OK not fair. I have to work all day, almost never get to a computer and I will never be firties again! Boo Hoo!

Hey, where should I get my new tattoo. Now it has to be somewhere it would not be seen in polite society, yet somewhere I wouldn't mind the tattoo artist seeing.

I can muster all manner of places I'd like to see it FMF, but it seems polite society might not appreciate yer showin' it off. Is this the "translation" tat? Really makes a differance on where it should go.

I'd say get it on your forehead but polite society might not take a liking to that.
I would say get one on your leg - so you can see it with shorts but not business-like attire

Yeah

I was originally going to get some shooting stars across the top of my right foot, but that is so done too many times.

I really like the "she's tore up plenty" It speaks to me and probably a lot of other women here as well. So I am thinking that one across the foot? What think you?

And yes peeps I KNOW it will hurt.

Hello everybody!
FMF, The foot or leg would probably be a good place for it...I wouldn't really know. I personally would be too scared to get a tattoo because it's there like...forever, and I like to change my mind about stuff too much. That and they use needles to put 'em on....

FMF - If I remember correctly you have some tattoos already. Am I right? Do you have one on the small of your back?

Yeah, yeah... I know... *every* woman with a tattoo has one on the small of her back... but it's a nice place for one and easy to show off in casual attire while also being easy to hide in business attire.

If you have long hair you could get away with one on the back of your neck, and leave your hair down when you want to hide it. I've considered that, still mulling it over. The writing might wind up too small though.

Morning, everyone!

I finally got some sleep last night - terrible insomnia night before last.

I'm sad to report, we will not be Chuck E Cheesing it this year. This being my first time doing such a thing, I waited until the last possible second to call, and there are no openings on the 2 Saturdays we can hold the party. We've decided to go to a local (but much better) regular old pizza place, buy the kids pizza, then walk over to a large park next to the pizza place to have the rest of the party al fresco. We'll see if Tidbit doesn't notice there's no giant rat handing out toys...

FMF, I would say tattoo the upper right shoulder, unless you wear a lot of back revealing stuff. Were I to get another, it would be on the shoulder blade.

The cheapest CC package was $12.99 / kid! That's $156 just to have the party...Tidbit originally mentioned this place in Rockville called Jeepers. It costs $17.95 / kid. ($215!)I was thinking Dave & Busters, but it was Jeepers kindof expensive as well. But they have some nice, nice pool tables there...
I just hope it is a nice day. Otherwise I'll have to have a seriously good plan "B".

*aceepts The Good Stuff gratefully*

Morning all- Wow a lot to ponder
NV- ah um well...er ok too tired to even figure that out except to say I really hate those little visible threads that float occasionally through your occular fluid and creep you out:)

FMF- Ok Tat...I have one that's on my abdomen ok well here's how you'd find it put your hand directly on your hip bone with your pinkie on the top edge of the bone. If you have small hands ( which sadly I do) your index finger is now covering my tat:) It's great 'cause you can always turn down the edge of your pants to show someone, yet it doesn't show unless you're wearing really low cut pants/skirt/bikini bottoms:)Also I have one to the right of my spine near the base and I want one on the back of my neck where the hair will cover it unless I have it up:)

Relationships...well I am usually on at school. However I'd have plenty of time at home. MisterG is a big WoW person so we have lots of separate time and then some together time:)

Good morning everyone. I was intruiged with FMF's tat question last evening. But the power flickered off and I was too pissed from losing work to answer. Will post a small tat adventure from this last Saturday later.

Well FMF, I was thinkin', "She's tore up plenty..." and "...But she'll fly true." either spiraling around an ankle or one on each ankle. Feet are terribly painful and I'd hate to hear of the lingering agony of dealing with said tat's. If you can deal with a few weeks of blistering pain initiated by one of the sharpest pains in tatooing you could always try it. But if you've had circulation problems I'd highly reconsider the feet for a more fleshy spot.
The idea of the ankles leaves you room to add details later, (Stars around characters, vines/leaves, shadow effects). Even incorporating the falling star idea with the characters in a spiraling motion around your ankle/ankles.
Did you ever consider around a thigh in a garter fashion? All manner of design can be incorporated into the print and lace of the garter.
Just some thoughts.

A well done tat is a work of art. Poorly done...yes, horrific. That's why you spend a decent amount of money to get an artist to do the work.

Hi Magda! Good to see you too.

Tinadoll - Well, you don't need to ponder to be a ponderer. We go through phases. It's more a chatty, hanging out place with the odd question about life, the universe and everything thrown in. Which, personally, I think the answer to is 42.

It's great to see more posters wandering over to the cooler!

NVG - Thanks for the compliment. I'm a bit defensive about tattoos as I have one myself. I must have mentioned it about a billion times by now... A Celtic knot on my lower back, just below my waist, roughly in the shape of an inverted triangle. I love it to bits.

I'm seriously considering getting the Irish word for Serenity - "Suaimhneas" - tattooed in Ogham. Which I'm sure I've mentioned too! The word itself has special meaning for me. I'm still not 100% sure where. Maybe the back of my neck, only my hair is unruly and I wear it up a lot... or maybe between my shoulder blades or behind a shoulder, just above the shoulder blade. Still considering it.

I seen ina photo thread you caving to peer pressure and promising pics DTH. (Tries not to be pushy) Love to see the tat. (Hint hint. Wink wink. Nudge nudge.)

So GND decided to work against mine and Babysis's suggestion and got her tat from a friend of a friend. Not that the art was bad, but he was a little neglectful with some of his gear. Still fumin' from that evening. But she's heard my concern and agrees to go with me ot BabySis to research anybody she gets work from if she decides on more.
