Just stopping in quick to say hi!
HUGs Mav, hope you get in a better mood soon...I'd recommend chocolate for whatever's wrong!

Tina, I can relate to how you feel when people are being jerks at work. It happens when you work at a touristy place too, though definitely less so than in a law firm I guess. It really sucks. I guess certain people don't think about your feelings as much if you're in a job situation or something...

Hi all:)

HUGS NV- Ok but I wanna know what happened so email me and tell me what's going on with She ( use the oncemorewithfeeling321@yahoo.com as I am home for the weekend) And I'm sorry about spring break and the crazy teen rites of spring you are now forced to endure...I really really think they need to make a water softener for drinking fountains that puts tranquilizers into the water in low doses for use in sites where teens gather...

Hey rugbug and SBDB...good to see you both if ever so briefly

HUGS Mav in absentia...

OK then you;d like my tats Zeek as they are tiny and only viewable by SO...it's why I want to get one together as a sense of connectedness.

My stupid eye exam took 3 hours...I hate not being normal. They decided to do a field of vision test which takes 30 for normal people and longer for those of us with ADD since it's a really really really hard test if you have ADD...Oh well mostly all is well and my vision hasn't gotten worse ( not that it's really got anywhere but blind to go) Normal vision is 20/20 my vision is 20/1000 legally blind is 20/250 Luckily my eyes are still correctable through contacts( for the most part) and I'm 20/40 when I wear them:)

Hey Zeek, you're not alone. I also find tattoos to be dumb, as you so elegantly put it. Actually, a more accurate statement is that I can't understand their allure to some people. Why someone would want to mar their natural beauty with (what is to me)an ugly mark is beyond my comprehension. It doesn't matter how artistically it is made or how beautiful I would have found the design if it were on any other type of media, but put it on skin and the aestetic that appealed to me is instantly gone. I've never understood it and I doubt I ever will.

But that's me. I'm sure there are people out there that are as turned on by tattoos as I am turned off by them and that's perfectly fine as long as ya'll don't expect me to have the same reaction.

Good Morning, Penguin (bloodletting?) & Hobbleit!

Ah, the difference 24 hours and a few emails makes...better now. Sorry for the attempt at a tantrum, everyone. I stayed up late last night, thinking of a plot so diabolical it would put msg to shame...and surprisingly, it made me feel better.

*officially letting it go*

This morning's drive to daycare song was supposed to be Korn's live version of "Freak on a Leash" with Amy Lee...but Carson was not amused and demanded a song change (MOM! THIS IS BORING!) so we listened to his favorite Bob Marley song "Is This Love" - My little Rasta Child!

Time for more coffee (When is it not time for more coffee?) Back soon.

Urk, I am quite sleepy too. Hubby kept me up almost to 2am with a Karazhon run (WoW talk, hehe), and then I woke up this morning to find the sky completely overcast. We have a big window and a skylight in our bedroom, so on sunny days that helps get me up, but on cloudy days I just want to go back to sleep.

Also, I've done some reading recently on Vitamin D, and I'm finding that many of the health issues I'm struggling with are linked to Vitamin D deficiency -- specifically autoimmune diseases and unexplained joint pain. So I've been trying to spend a bit of time outside in the sunshine every day, except that it's been cloudy for the past 10 days! All the progress I've made towards feeling better with the warm weather in March is being undone! I demand sunshine now!

So yeah, feeling pretty crappy today. I *always* feel better during the summer, and I've figured out four reasons why that is:
1. Spending more time out side, so I get more Vitamin D.
2. Not cold and flu season (if I catch something that triggers my immune system, I'm in bad shape for the next 4 - 6 months).
3. Swimming is the exercise my joints seem to tolerate the best, and since I only have access to outdoor pools, I only swim during the summer.
4. My feet are *always* cold, but when it's warm out I don't notice my feet being cooler so much.

Bah. Clouds. Go. Away. NOW!

And all that? Also the reason they don't want my blood. Or they don't want it for other people, anyway. They seem to like taking mass amounts (as much as 10 tubes in one sitting once!) just so they can tell me that the tests were inconclusive. Bah.

I need coffee. With lots of sugar. Back soon.

OK we need something to imponder.

How about this one? For the single pet people out there, what if you met mr/mrs right except they were extremely allergic to your pet? Would you give up your pet?

I don't think I could do it. I'm coming up on 2 years now with my kitty and she's just the sweetest little thing. Having her energetically jumping up on the bed the second I wake up every morning is just a great way to start the day. I know waking up next to Mrs. Right would probably be pretty great too, but I just don't know if I could willingly give up my kitty.

I'm not single...but that's what Zyrtec was invented for. Seriously.

If I were seriously allergic to my loved one's pet, I would not ask him to give that pet up. I would work on finding an allergy med that controlled my symptoms.

Having a mate has so profoundly changed my life in so many ways, that looking back on my life pre-Husband...I know I would do everything in my power to live with allergies AND that which makes my mate happy (his pet)

Lol, I actually did give up my pet!

To be fair, I'd only had him (a black kitty named Jade) for a couple of months, and got him after the hubby and I started dating. It was my first apartment all by myself, and after growing up with 7 other people and a variety of dogs in the house, an apartment was awfully quiet. But he didn't like hubby much (Jade had had a single female owner his whole life before coming to live with me), and hubby is allergic to pet dander.

So a few months before we moved in together, we went away for a weekend (to an SCA event that ended up being terrible!) and I asked my family to take care of Jade for me. Five years later, he still lives with them, lol. He's a *much* nicer cat now that he's been socialized a bit better, and I still get to see him anytime I'm out in Austin. He does seem rather insulted to have to live with three dogs and three sugar gliders, none of which he's allowed to bite (my sister's goldfish wasn't so lucky, hehe).

I've informed hubby that I'm going to want a dog eventually, probably after my 30th birthday. If we aren't going to have kids I'm gunna need something!

WHITEFALL

Ah, morning to yall fine imponderables... no teen drama for once, just popping in to say hi and to avoid doing my homework for twenty minutes. Lots to do and less time to do it in...

On the subject of blood giving... My school has blood drives from the people over at Stanford, and so I started donating last year.... it's an interesting thing, being crazy lightheaded, and being altruistic, and also people treat you nice for the rest of the day. Fun stuff. I even went down to stanford last summer to donate.

Unfortunately I had this pretty nasty sore throat last tuesday when the blood drive was on, so I lost my chance to donate. Quite bummed about that. I was thinking "eh, it's just a sore throat, what do they care, blood's still good"..... and then of course in bold print on the form DO NOT HAVE A SORE THROAT, FLU, OR COLD!

Oh well.

In other news, going to Thespian Festival again this year, that's next week, and I will once again wear my jayne hat all three days. it's pretty awesome.... and here's a little something, last year I wore my hat the whole time, and someone was taking pictures... i ended up on their site.

http://www.cetoweb.org/cst_pages/events_info_reg.html

take a look, the pictures in the top section, you may recognize a certain orange piece o' headgear...

anyhoo, i still need to memorize my monologue for festival and such, so i'm not going to do so well, but i'm not really interested in competing: AP Classes and college stuff and Godspell overshadowed it, and i dont mind that.

And here's my random awkward joke of the weekend.... we did Act 2 of Godspell yesterday for rehearsal. Which means we killed Jesus. On Good Friday. We all had a hearty chuckle. (but dont get me wrong, whenever we run act 2, people cry. it's a really sad scene, we take it seriously.)

As they say in my son's kindergarden...

"Alive, Alert, Awake, Ethusiastic!"

Morning, VE! I'm here, as promised (see above). I do think it will be a quiet day as so many have one last day off.

I had some good news over the weekend. I sold my truck Dora to a family who just got here from Honduras. He's a mechanic, so with $400 worth of parts and $1000 worth of his own elbow grease, he should get Dora back up to spiffy in no time. I am happy I helped a family in need, Dora got a good home, I got the $$ I was looking for, and Carson was happy his favorite truck wouldn't be sold for parts. Everyone won.

It snowed here Saturday morning making for a cold Easter Egg hunt at my father-in-law's church sponsored event. (It melted fairly quickly.) We had fun, and Carson got to see his beloved cousin Hannah (see pic from previous thread where she's peeking behind him holding Mouse Trap.) Hannah has that now that she & Carson are 6, they are getting married. Carson is not amused!

It was a slow weekend here at the store, so I'll be around.
