Plenty of sunshine here. Amazingly. For one. Yes, it's actually *sunny* here. In *Ireland*. Not just sunny, but also *hot*. In *April*.

I hear it's something to do with that weird ball of fire floating in the sky. We'd heard about it in legends of old, but I never expected to see it...

Did I mention that today started out on a great note? Since my apartment complex is being extra annoying and are no resurfacing the parking lot, I have to keep moving where I park every day. They're doing everything in phases. Anyway I was parked like 2 blocks away today and had to walk by the mailboxes and figured I should mail out some junk I was being lazy about and I checked my mail to see if Buffy Season 8 #2 was at the office yet. Sure enough it is, but the real surprise was from Earthlink. I signed up with them cause there was a promotion at bestbuy for a $100 giftcard to sign up with Earthlink. Which I did and planned on using toward the purchase of a wii. Anyway all went according to plan and I got 4 $25 giftcards a while back. However, today I got another set of 4 for some random reason. What a nice screw up on their part. Yes, I'm a bad person and won't let them know about their mistake.

*Pokes LA29 in the back* Take firsties and then have nothing to say missy?

Hi Tina - don't think we've ever actually met before.

MSG - G-force eh? I loved that show! No crushes on the characters though. Oh and Jason is the Leader.

Can't think of any first crushes. I have been wracking my brain and just drawing a blank. Maybe one will come to me while I continue to read.

I only have vague memories of Princess. But I'm sure there were a few eight year old boys with crushes on her

I still think Esteban was cuter.

Not now I'm older though. Actually, Mysterious Cities of Gold is the show I credit with giving me an interest in Fantasy and Sci-Fi. It was a very odd blend of historical adventure and science-fiction. *very* eighties, but excellently done with a cracking story and brilliant characters. I was never the same after watching that series. Brilliant stuff.

Ah...he appreciates your concern.

He seems to be doing fine now. Swelling is almost gone...instead of grapefruit sized, it's half a candy bar sized. Vet was out on Tues while I was in my lesson and I asked her not to give him the next shot this week as we have a show on Sunday and I didn't want him swollen. She checked him out and based on his severe reactions, we won't be doing semi-annual vaccinations. Maybe once very two or three years...and flu boosters if we go to big shows.

We did have a fantastic lesson on Tues. Jumped 2'9" and mostly did it well. It's strange because while I am a bit scared of what my horse can do to me (rightfully so as I think over the last year and a half), I trust him the most of any of the horses I ride. I KNOW that if I point him at a jump that he CAN jump it...whether or not he will is sometimes up to the scariness of said jump and how much I have my you-will-jump-that-you-stupid-SOB game face one. But knowing he's athletic and scopey is an amazing feeling...especially after so many years of riding horses that were maxed out at 2'3".

There I go again. Going on and on about my horse. I will stop now.

Rugbug- hey way to go. Yeah it's always nervy as you approach the jump. 2'9 is great! You can talk all you want about horses. Is there any particular type of jump he's not comfy with? My sis's didn't like anything with water in front of it ( mainly 'cause he was such a baby about getting wet...always hated any water involved grooming)

Wasted trip. Finance had no credit card available.

Wassup with the anime people? I kinda see the extreme points yer makin' TD. If anyone is interested try: Grave of the Fireflies, Milleninum Actress, and Tokyo Godfathers. Three excellent anime flicks that purge the robots/monstors/spaceships normally associated with anime. I have to again recommend Voices Of A Distant Star. Has the robot/alien element, but a deeper story supercedes that fact for a short flick.

EDIT: Anime is my fault, NVG. Since we were mentioning first crush shame I admitted that my very first crush was a cartoon character from 'Mysterious Cities of Gold'. I don't know if the show counts as anime. I do know it was a joint Japanese-French project. And it was really, really cool.

Well, as a hunter/eq horse..Show doesn't really have to jump water. We will never see it in any of our classes. You mostly see open water:

liverpools:

in jumpers or water obstacles:

in eventing.

We do, however, have a liverpool at our barn. He has jumped that a few times, although not with water in it.

He is a little freaked by aqueducts/viaducts:

and brick walls:

So we've bought some of those for our barn as well. Horses should know better than to be scared by a jump at a show because then it magically appears at home.

HUGS to all..ether hugs to HK:)

Off to my late night tutoring.

Here DTH I shall embarrass myself for you.
Once I helped a kid study for a math test and it turned out I didn't quite understand what I was doing and the kid got a 38% and I had to go beg the other teacher to let him re-take the test because it was my fault he failed.

Or stage crew moment. I grabbed a gym shirt out of my car 'cause I'd forgotten to wear a black shirt that day and we were moving a bunch of chairs and things. ( my shirt was scoop necked) and for some reason the kids helping kept bumping stuff ( which was unusual) and I look up while holding my side of the table and they're looking at the ceiling. I start to get after them and one of them says " um well your shirt's really low necked and not that the view isn't great, but we don't want be checking out the teacher." I seriously thought my face would burn off from the blush.

There now I'm embarrassed too...and on that note...gotta go!
