Yeah, it's kindof a poopy day. But, 36+ hours smoke free.

Way to go Mavs, and you too Kel.

Rose, wonderful cat pics, I think I like vamp kitty the best.

Kel, it's like the name James, only with an -on at the end. Jameson. Thanks for the bottle. Here's to Tim Minear hopefully learning a lesson about dealing with F*X, though at the expense of another damn fine show.

Xie-xie, they are very fun to make

My huge site of cats has gone down for now, tho.

I need to find a good site to submit all the ones I've captioned to. I rounded them all up and I've done about 50, and I'm proud enough to want them to go beyond photobucket. Most of the sites aren't that clear on the procedure though. They also tend to shrink the pics, which would make me sad

Oooh, PR what are you thinking of studying? I'd love to be a student again. Well I guess I kind of am since I've started my PGCE (Professional Graduate Certificate of Education).

I'm a lot more cheerful today. If ever a job was designed to make you bipolar this is it! My Special Needs class was lovely. Hard work, but really rewarding! I quickly downgraded my lesson plan from cleaning and checking the health of the lizards to remembering my name and saying it back to me and touching one of the giant millipedes. I nearly cried though when one of the carers took me aside at the end and said that one of the boys who had said my name had not spoken to a stranger in years! They like me, they really do! Now can someone teach me Makron before next week?!

Sounds exciting, yes?
I don't like being a student. I wish I actually wanted to be a student like you, but I don't, I just want my job to not suck anymore.
I'd try to help with Makron if I knew what it was

HUGS Emma...I sent you a PM..If it makes you feel better, we all cried all the time the first year we taught. You'll have good and bad days and some days you will just desperately want to quit ( hell that still happens) but it will get easier and better. Good job with your special needs kids. Some tips: Make simple step by step posters ( ok I have no idea what you actually want them to do , but)

Care for Lizard
1- wash your hands
2- get measuring cup
3- get box of lizard food from blue shelf
4- fill measuring cup to the top
5- take top off of cage
6- put top down next to cage
7-pour cup of food into the green dish
8- put lid back on cage

They do better with simple steps one at a time. Also they do better if those steps are written and posted so they can check. After you give them instructions on taking the lid off the cage say " touch your nose if you know how to take the lid off the cage" and that way you can check to see who understood without making them raise hands which they are sometimes embarrassed to do. Also have them repeat any instructions back to you 2-3 times. OK I'll stop now, but if you need any help, please ask:)
EDIT- yes this is what I do all day, but with surly teenagers.

Rose- I am so proud of you for going back to school! Bryce you too. This is super great! I am sure you both have nothing to be scared of, but change is always unnerving. It's so great that you are doing this. If I can help at all, let me know ok!

You'll love it I'm sure because it will be easy for someone of your intelligence. I always find the little computer courses I go on to be fun because I get to play whilst they go through the how to use a mouse bit!

By the way, I meant Makaton (see, knowing the name would be a good start) which is a kind of sign language.

That's a truly scary vid and makes me grateful I teach in a country where guns are less common. Doesn't stop them punching each other of course! We had the police in today following up on a serious fight. They left some of these cool leaflets which made me laugh a lot!

Sure, if you wanna. If I go to DeVry (which is what I'm thinking right now, but plans can change, especially when the school isn't within easy driving distance) They say it'll take three years to get the degree I'm looking at.
