TENTHCREWMEMBER

Could you please just make it stranger? Stranger. Odder. Could be weirder. More bizarre. How about uncanny?

Actually, I prefer the one post to 10 or 15 posts that are all related. So no worries, John.

And thanks for the insight and links.

Just goes to show you; Don't do business with FOX.
Tim should know better by now. He should have stuck to his guns and refused to ever deal with those "ta ma de hun dan" just like Joss.

Unfortunately the show was cancelled and will return to the FOX schedule one more time only - on WED 7/4/07 to air its final 2 episodes. The cast and crew have all moved on to other projects.

Legolas813 thanks for the link, I have just finished watching the first episode of "Drive" and thought it was very good. Did anyone else notice that the suit interviewing Alex Tulley in his home when his wife got taken is the same actor who played Jubal Early? Does that seem right to you?

Apparently they can.

About as successfully as they did the first time, though.

It is really a shame. I watched the first few episodes and found it to be pretty interesting, not as good as Firefly, but it had potential. It is a shame that this show did not make it and was so quickly cancelled. I really seem to enjoy Tim Minear's work, shows like Firefly, Wonderfalls, and Drive. It is a shame they all were on Fox and got cancelled so quickly, all of them had great potential. Oh well, maybe one day one of them will take off.

I love Nathan, and I watched the negotiating show for like three episodes, just because Gina was in it, so I know all about supporting our BDM's. But geez, I did not like Drive. I mean, the characters were uninteresting. The action was sub-par and frankly, I just did not get the whole driving across the country thing. How many shows about people in mysterious circumstances banding together to overcome tremendous odds do we need? Heroes, Lost, the 4400, Drive, Prison Break, Jericho, Kyle XY, Supernatural. I mean, this is getting old. Lost got big so every network decided they had to put out their supernatural show that season. The reason that shows like Lost (and our show, for that matter) succeeded was because their creators thought outside of the box, and did something different. And just like those shows that I mentioned before, how long could they keep driving? Just like, how long can they be stuck on an island, how long can you not know where these powers come from, how long can you be in a town surrounded by dense fog, and not know what happened? People need closure. They need an end to the story. When you don't have that, you get a canceled show. Or at least a show that near the end of the first (or second) season, start to suck.

Perfectly put. I tried to watch it as well but to me it seemed like a hastily put-together response to the other 'oooh, mysterious....' shows already on tv. That they lost their lead at pretty much the last minute was a bit of a tip-off, although a nice unexpected paycheck for Nathan. But I'd rather wish I could see him than actually see him in something as mediocre as "Drive."

I will concede the point that Drive did not get off to a good start, and I’ll admit I probably would not have even watched it if Nathan was not in it. I do think with him being the lead actor, and with Tim Minear, it had potential to become a fun and interesting show, so I am still sad to see it cancelled so quickly. I will continue to follow our BDH’s to other shows as I followed Summer to the 4400 and the Unit and I enjoy watching both of those TV shows now. I’ll keep my hope up to see our BDH’s on other TV shows and movies.

I never even got the chance to see the show, I heard it got good reviews as soon as I heard that I knew it would be cancelled after all its FOX , which is why I try to avoid any show that comes on that network!!

I don't think that the show sucked at all. I thought it was quite good. They revealed enough information over the first three episodes so that you knew why each person was in the race, or at least had some idea, and they didn't leave things hanging forever like Lost does. If this show had've continued, I would've kept watching.

I really hope that Tim Minear doesn't have a contract with Fox, because if he does, he should try to get out of it being that they cancel every one of his shows after only a abbreviated season.

Also, I can't believe that Drive was being blamed for bringing down 24's ratings. I'm a faithful watcher of 24, and it SUCKED this year, which many people, including critics, will tell you. So I think 24 is to blame for it's own ratings nightmare.
