Jason David, named for his daddy. They're still trying to decide what to call him, though the vote seems to be to just call him Jason, or little Jason if it's confusing. I think I'll call the baby Jason and my brother Papa Jason now, hehe.

I'll post one as soon as I get one! Papa Jason had the presence of mind to grab his camera on the way out the door (my sister-in-law's water broke but she wasn't having labor pains, so it wasn't a mad rush to the hospital), so I hear they've taken a bunch of pictures, but I don't think they've gone home yet so nothing has been emailed out. They're planning on joining us for Christmas this year, but by that point he'll be 8 months old! Which reminds me, I should mail out the booties I knitted for him, before he gets too big to wear them...

ETA: if he'd been born a half an hour earlier, he would have been born on the 1 year anniversary of my brother proposing to his wife. Yeah, they've had a busy year.

CK!

Also belated congrats to Whitefall on UCLA'ing it. I know you were all bunched up about it a few months ago.

JP, maybe your friend got all nerved up about it. The female Browncoats aren't in the boys' club and maybe don't understand that we menfolk don't make a move without a consult. I mean we usually can't even tell if someone's interested. Not that we expect an answer or even an approval. Jus' sayin' habits die hard. And how many of you ladies wouldn't have even the slightest conspiratory gathering before the event arises to discuss "Should I say yes?"

The friend asked no input on how to pop the question? Maybe you think you're a closer friend than you are. But I would let one unconfirmed suspicion wreck the friendship. I would opt for the forgetful/uncomfortable line of thought unless there's something else that supports a pattern of deception or concealment.

Howdy Zeek.

And greetings, lovely Hobbleit. There were oodles of memorable scenes in that movie. Perhaps why I've always found it (and of course the album which spawned it) a masterwork.

One company I worked for had a New Year Baby competition every year. Staff would bring in their baby pictures and there would be a competition with awards for cutest baby, least changed, baby who looks most like Budha, that kind of thing. It was a lot of fun :)

Doesn't sound like you're spreading yourself too thin. As long as you remember who has what and stay on good terms with them.

Er. Actually... I'm pretty much hoping the insurance company has all their contact info. I met far too many people this past week and a half to remember anything. Heh. At least I now have a good excuse for wearing inappropriate t-shirts and kick-ass boots to work, in clear violation of our dress code policy, and no one can do anything about it. Hee! ^^

See that's what I thought at first until I found out that she knew because they picked out the ring together a week or so ago. But I also found out he didn't even tell his parents, so I don't feel left out anymore, just worried that he felt that either I or his parents would have tried to talk him out of it (not saying I would have, but in his mind). I mean, what's the point of having friends if you only want them to tell you what you want to hear?

EDIT: I apologize for the grammatical Mobius strip that is the last sentence.

I know this is a flagrant attempt to sway you but...ENGLAND! ENGLAND! A THOUSAND TIMES ENGLAND!

We've got a few Browncoats, but just not enough in my view...and the weather's beautiful over here at the moment, blue skies, cooling breezes, the works.
Plus, the *accent* (because of course England is too small to have multiple accents ) is sexy...apparently. Hearing a rough Liverpudlian woman screaming "WHAT THE FK ARE YOU LOOKING AT?!" kinda takes the shine off it though. My advice is: stay away from the rough areas of Liverpool, it ain't worth it.

Ah well, back to my Thinking Journalism essay...got till 4pm tomorrow to write 2000 words and I'm still in the "finding quotes to support my argument" phase This is gonna be fun.

RIMG - Right back at you kid. It's nice to be back. The server at my university has been playing up for the last three months, meaning sites like FFF.net, fanfiction.net, vgcats.com and bbc.co.uk (four of my most visited sites) have inexplicably just stopped working. The (exceddingly bad) technicians seem to have sorted it out for the time being.

As for me, I'm...shiny, really. As long as I can get this Thinking Journalism essay done and dusted (I've started now BTW, am on a solid 256 words), I should be able to carry on at uni, move away from my halls of residence (and the bds that reside in them) and start afresh socially. Got my last piece to hand in on May 9th, then four months of sweet, sweet freedom amongst people I know and love. Can't spiggin' wait!

How are you doing anyways RIMG? Life treating you well I hope?

A NINJA-QUICK EDIT: If anyone here on FFF.net takes a Journalism-related course at any educational level, I implore you to buy Journalism: Critical Issues which is edited by Stuart Allan. Absolutely amazing book which helps you get your head round the social aspects of Journalism and really makes you think on how to be a better, more ethical journalist. Plus, it's got tonnes of quotable passages, which always helps.

I really want to go back to England. I went when I was 16 or 17 and it was awesome, but I think if I went back now I'd enjoy it even more. As far as foreign countries go, I like it because a.) I can speak the language (mostly) and b.) British people don't seem to be rude to Americans in my experience (I'm putting you on watch Italy!). I guess I'll have to work for 6 months to put some money aside for a vacation.

Gah...

So remember I sold Dora (my old truck) to some guys? Well, they called to tell me the MVA won't let them register it - they were told there's still a lien on it. Turns out my bank never notified the MVA the loan was paid...but I still got an official title signifying the loan was paid. (Stupid!)

I just spent 30 minutes on the phone with the bank that bought the bank that bought the bank I had the loan with, in hopes of getting some sort of letter releasing the lien.

I've also been notified that there is interest in an Imponderables Pajama Party. Is there widespread interest?

Mav- make a copy of the title you have, go down to the county recorder and have the title recorded. Then send that and the copy of the title to the people. That should do it. yes, Jimi, I was talking to you! Suggesting we swap jobs for a bit. I wouldn't mind visiting the US for a spell! And since you're so eager to see Ireland.

Um... what do you do again? Military? Oh well, I'm sure there are loads of hippies in the American military... Heck, I may even bump into Chris and get to irritate the heck out of him in person

Those are great pajamas MsG.

DTH, I technically work for the military (Air Force), but I am a Civilian, and if I didn't have to pass through checkpoints every morning, I might not even notice. I do electronics engineering for them though, in case you need to study up a little before you come over here. :)
