Hey all. I think I saw something posted over on whedon.info a few weeks ago, but I thought I'd let everyone here know that there's a new book titled ATTACK OF THE SCI-FI TRIVIA out on Amazon.com. The book contains a number of Firefly questions. I thought Browncoats would be interested. It's a fun book.

What was the first sindicated science fiction TV show?

Are you sure? I vote for Chris's guess.

If children's programs don't count, I'll guess Lights Out. Course, we could be in the wrong country...anyone know the first British sci fi show?

I would go with Doctor Who, Only because it is the only one I know of and it started in the sixties. But I am only guessing. People would be surprized at how long science fiction has been around. Even on television.

Remember originally I said sindicated. That means it was shot on film and distributed. Most other science fiction sjows were live broadcasts.

It lasted only one season and brought us doors that opened automatically. A video screen to see beyond the limits the eye. And also an invisible spacecraft.

Both of our guesses were 49-50...I think. The only thing like that I can think of is Buck Rogers. Maybe Flash Gordon. I know those were both 50s.

The "only one season" hint has thrown all my guesses out the window. Resisting tempation to look it up...grrr.

But of course! I love Space: 1999!!! Most expensive show ever filmed for its time. And the special effects still hold up well.

Between that, the Prisoner, and the Muppet Show, I still get chills when I see the ITC logo....
