There are a lot of main stream movies on this list. But honestly...who here besides me owns the DVD of Cannibal the Musical?

Who else know the words to "Let's build a Snowman" and "That's all I'm asking for"???

"We're tired of being sick.
We're sick of being poor.
We've had a little luck,
Now we want a little more.

Enough so we'd never do anything anymore.
That's all we're askin' for!"

(My heart's as full as a baked potato!)

Hee hee hee
Check em out yourself....

Oh my. A surprising number of my faves got mentioned.

Space Cowboys got mentioned, tho' not by title, in the other thread.

Armaggadeon, of course.

Dude, Where's My Car?

Legend of Bagger Vance.

and a couple of original nominees:

Spaced Invaders- a Disney movie, I think, with cute kids, a wholesome sherrif, and incompetent aliens doing impressions of Cary Grant and Jack Nicholson. "it'll turn you into toast. In your case, a whole LOAF of toast." "Prepare to die, Earth scum! Prepare to die , Earth scum. Prepare to die, Earth scum! I'm gonna have them carve that on your tombstone."

and 2, OMG, 2, movies with Danny DeVito:

Rennaissance Man, where he gets hired as a civilian instructor at an Army Boot Camp.

and

Death to Smoochie,

which doesn't get any respect from anybody, but features a lot of talented folks, and a lot of funny stuff.

9. Labyrinth - David Bowie as Nancy Wilson (Blonde from the band Heart) with Muppets.

Hey now! These two are fantasy classics and so is Willow. There is nothing wrong with them or with liking them. And I have a nephew who is about 3 years old and can quote all of the Labyrinth. This kid is pretty great. he regularly pretends to be (and wears the appropriate outfits) Jareth, Jack Sparrow, and Yoda.

Now a few more. You know those movies you loveas a kid and when you get older you realize just how badthey are but you still like them? Here's two of those.
Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead
and Tommy Tricker and the Stamp Traveler
The second one there is about jr high kids who collect stamps for fun and find a magic spell that allows them to travel...on stamps. Yeah.

As for crappy horror. There is a set of Italian zombi fliks. I've never seen Zombi one or two but I have a friend that owns number three. I'vwe got two words for you. Karate Zombies. This movie is just wierd. It's an italian made film starring an american set in China. I don't think anyone knew what was going on when they made it and it is chocked full of continuity errors and you can even see the guy with the smoke machine a couple of times. Still I like it. It makes me laugh. I get a couple of friends together and we MST3K the thing.

GARDEN STATE got panned????!!!!!! What universe are you living in????!!!! GARDEN STATE got tons of praise when it was released, and has already become a touchstone movie for my generation. As of now, it's at the top of my list for best film OF THE DECADE.

So don't you dare say that GARDEN STATE flopped or was even considered to be bad. I will defend that movie to death.

-Robot Jox. Horrible movie I can't get enough of.

-Doom Asylum. Worst horror movie I have ever seen, is finally out on dvd, I've seen it 3 times so far.

-The Heavenly Kid. Not even sure why I own this movie. It's awful, but if it's on, I'll watch it.

-Munchies. In the mid 80's there was an explosion of little monster movies,(Gremlins,Critters, Ghoulies, Troll etc.) and Munchies is the cheesiest, and most fun to watch.

-Short Circuit 2. Did we need a sequel? No, but it's so bad it's good.

Thank God this is anonymous, huh? Well, here goes nothin'...

1. The Last Starfighter (Hey, those were cutting-edge computer effects... at the time)

2. Kickboxer (got me kicking for the first time)

3. Beastmaster (Conan's skinny little brother... with ferrets)

4. The Mummy and the Mummy Returns (not-so-serious Indiana Jones RIPOFF, but I love them, Pigmies and all)

5. Johnny Dangerously ("You do realize your last name is an adverb.")

Let's see now...bad movies I love regardless...hmm:

1) Robot Jox --> you watch this and you know they spent 90% of the budget of the stop-motion effects. The other 9% and 1% is the catering costs and acting paycheques respectively;D

2) White Force --> dirty cheap action thriller from the 80s with the same guy who played Flash Gordon in the movie of the same period. Film's saved by the hero's clearly insane techhead buddy;D

3) The Last Chase --> Lee Majors is a former race car driver who, in an act of rebellion in a future world where only public transit is available, mounts up once again in his long-stored vehicle and sets off cross-country. Burgess Meredith is a drunken sot of an ex-Air Force pilot given his F-86 Sabre! back to stop Majors from reawakening the populace.

Now if that don't get your blood stirring, I don't know what will

4) Resident Evil: Apocalypse --> they blew up Toronto City Hall with a friggin' tactical nuke!! You know how many Torontonians want that to happen?!?

5) Bulletproof Monk --> It's Stiffler...doing kung fu...with Chow-Yun Fat! What else do you need to be entertained? Plot? Acting skill? Pshaw...

This sounds like a challenge so I've got one for you. Joysticks...anyone else know this one? If so I'm impressed. Released at the height of the 80's video arcade craze it chronicles the goings on at, you guessed it, a local video arcade. This one's got it all: bad acting, obvious plot, juvenille humor, and gratuitious nudity. No matter how bad this one is the thought of it still brings a smile to my face. Even if I were to watch it today I would still be laughing my ass off. The highlight of the film is game savant Jonathan Andrew McDorfus; a belching, farting, overweight slob who saves the day with his considerable gaming ability. Whoops, guess I should have used the spoiler tag...my bad.

ok, I refuse to admit these movies are bad, otherwise why would I like them? (as a browncoat, its obvious I have impeccable taste). I will admit however that they may have been misunderstood :)

2 that havent been mentioned yet, that I can watch over and over again -
Demolition Man (should have been billed as a comedy, not an action) and Undercover Blues ( I love movies that dont take themselves seriously).

On top of those Id have to add my vote to Armageddon, Ferris Buellers Day off (and I havent watche dit for well over a decade, but used to love Last starfighter). Ive only seen it once, but I htought Tank Girl was hilarious. And 2 of my favourite movies of all time are the Mummy movies. Brendan Fraser is a funny guy...

SPEAKFIRE

Can't believe no one's mentioned this one.

The Replacements. Best sports movie EVER. The jail scene when they are dancing to "I Will Survive" reigns among my favorite music movies among all motion pictures.

The Last Boy Scout with Bruce Willis and Damon Wayans

And... I may be drawn and quartered for this one. It's among the most hated blockbuster movies ever but I really liked

Star Wars: The Phantom Menace - I actually found Jar-jar somewhat amusing. So did my SO, for that matter. He was stupidly funny at times and I did want to hit him upside the head but overall the movie was still very entertaining and enjoyable. And yes I am old enough to remember going to see Star Wars: A New Hope on opening day in 1977 at the Showcase Cinemas in Louisville KY (I was 8) so this isn't a matter of me being too young to remember the 'good years' of Star Wars, a true Star Wars fan or any other lame excuse.

hey reginaroadie, here in ireland garden state did nothing, didn't get into every cinema scheledule[spelling], but its not my fault, back off

and hey i love the film, but how do u judge whats a bad movie, especially since everyone keeps mentioning armeggedon but it smashed at the box office so its not a bad movie, where as garden state didn't do all that great at the box office so hence more chance of being named [bad]

now remember i love the film and when zach stands on top of old digger looking over the the giant cave where supermarket was to be build , it blew my mind

Two movies that have been mentioned already I agree with. FREAKS (the original Todd Browning 1932 flick) was definitely a bizarre movie, but I wouldn't necessarily call it bad. Yeah, some of the acting is amateurish and the main plot is a bit melodramatic, but it has that surreal allure and one of the scariest twists in a movie.

"We accept her! We accept her! One of us! One of us! Gooble gobble, gooble gobble! One of us! One of us!"

And I second not only THE PHANTOM MENACE, but also the entire prequel trilogy. I know in the last eight years or so that people have been calling them the mustache across the Mona Lisa and that nothing short of George Lucas being crucified ala Jim Cavizel in PASSION OF THE CHRIST will begin to quench their fanboy thirst of blood. But honestly, I never felt that way. I felt that they did inform the original trilogy very well and that they were still in the same spirit and continuity of the original trilogy. The only real problem that I had with TPM was the kid that played young Anakin. No acting talent whatsoever. But other than that, I felt satisfied with the prequels and won't be ignoring them and pretend they never happened like everyone else.

Looking through my DVD collection I have to admit to having at least three (havn't searched but their may be one more) Muppety type movies.

1. Muppet Christmas Carol
2. Muppets Take Manhatten
3. Muppet Treasure Island

... and I'll admit that they do bring a smile to my face to watch them.

I agree, but it's still a horrible movie, movie-wise. =)
Most of the music is brilliant, it's Tenacious D. ^^ But some of the songs doesn't reach up to the standards of the D's previous works.

Battle Beyond the Stars.

Old B-grade flick that I *still* like, curse it.

Had two life defining moments for me when I watched in my youth - firstly the long speech Gelt gives about having all this money, and nowhere he dares show his face to spend it..

That sage advice steered me off a pretty dangerous course before it became an irreversible slide.

And the other was also Gelt, when two Akiran kids asked him if he was a bad man, and his reply sticks with me even today.
"I don't think like you Akirans do, if you think differently, you get called bad."

I have no means to explain to most of you, cept maybe Jack, just how *much* a comfort those words have ever been to me.

And there's also the fact that my bio-father is a dead ringer for Sador of the Malmouri.

In all honesty, it's actually a pretty good flick in spite of it's low budget.

Has anyone here ever really enjoyed a movie that they just knew was horrible. Come on, quilty pleasures here. For example, I hate to admit it but I enjoyed the Dungeons and Dragons movie. I know it was a bad movie, with bad acting and a questionable story but I can't help it.

Yeah me too I didn't think Dungeons & Dragons was that good but I did enjoy it for the whole chessiness of it, & for its time the graphics weren't too shabby, I haven't seen it but there was a sequel a year or 2 ago called "Dungeons & Dragons: Wrath of the Dragon God" which is supposedly better than the 1st

DARKJESTER

A Boy and His Dog (1975), starring Don Johnson and Jason Robards. Based on a Nebula award-winning novella by Harlan Ellison. Bad acting, decent story, VERY 70's!

FIZZIX

I've heard of that one film... I think it was called... peace. No, happiness. No.... must have been Serenity. They had that weird cult following... no idea what happened to those folks. They were weirdoes. Heard their show was named after a bug?

May not be smart, and it may not please you, but you're definitely gonna see what I have to say.

The Muppets Christmas Carol is a genius movie!
Best Dickens adaptation ever, including David Lean!! No one can diss the Muppets, or Miss Piggy will lift them right off the pavement.

Hudson Hawk? I thought I was the ony one. I've watched it at least a hundred times. I know it is bad and the writer in me tries to pick it apart and remake it in my head. I think the best thing Hudson hawk did was make sure Sandra Bernhart hasn't acted since. I also try to imagine if a good director had been given the movie what would have happened.
What would Tim Burton have done with it? or Terry Gillium? Ridley Scott? It was a good idea but the directions the script took into campy bad acting and the really bad slapstick scenes just didn't work. Still I put it in about once everyother month.

We're all just folk now

I read Treasure Island for the first time a little while ago, and the Muppet version was a great introduction to that.

Army of Darkness, how could anyone count that as a bad move. Hail to the King Baby!
