Hi!

I've been lurking here for a while, reading the fanfic and the discussions, but now I thought I should emerge and say hello.

I got into Firefly initially through the movie. I needed things to put on my webflicks rent list and I vaguely remembered someone telling me that Serenity was good. I quite liked the movie, thought it had some clever writing, but wasn't wildly enthusiastic. I confess I was a bit disappointed when they didn't kill everybody off at the end - but then I'm also a Blakes 7 fan, so possibly I have a bit of a fixation. I didn't actually like any of the characters except for Zoe and I remember thinking that it just isn't possible to do justice to that many main characters in a movie and that it would all have worked better as a TV series. So I went and rented Firefly.

Another confession - the beginning of the pilot nearly put me off. But when River came out of the box and there was that bit with her and Simon I decided this was worth watching. It took until OiS for it to make me cry, but by the end I was a total convert. I was spitting chips when I realised there weren't any more episodes.

So I did the logical thing and went in search of fanfic and discussion to fill the void, and ended up here. Now I just need to make myself a nice avatar, if I can work out how.

Welcome Eshva. We are a loose conclomeration of people who, while walking to the beat of their own drummer, are all going in the fairly same direction (Hands Eshva a glass of hot Earl-grey/Green tea). We like discussin various topics of past, preseant, and future. I myself have raised a couple of topics that have been discussed in the past but a few fellow browncoats have pointed me in the right direction for finding the notes on past topics and a few others have joined me in re-hashing said topic.
