You were busy trying to get yourself lit on fire. It happens.

Aww, you came up with the Evanescent Light yourself, 'cause I don't see how I inspired it.

Wow:

Everybody is gone.

I'm just standing here in the shade and watching the world go by.

Could use a peanutbutter-nanner sandwich with a glass of chocolate milk to chase it down.

Maybe a slice of apple pie with a scoop of vanila ice-cream on top.

Feels like a Mayberry RFD moment going on.

Where's Andy and Barney?

You hear about the plane crashing off shore here in Milwaukee. Took off yesterday and in five minutes it was in Lake Michigan. Six people on board. A small jet that flies humans organs across the country to people who need transplants.

Ya know, I didn't have to wait for my kidney. I was lucky.
The tragedy of that plane crash, beyond the 6 people killed, are the additional 5-8 people who did not receive transplants and who could die waiting for additional organs.

-----------------

And i like that the thread is 17% funnier. Makes me happy, in a small way.

Hi Guys:

Thought I was alone there for a while. Never seen the Imponderables with so few posts. Usually eighty or more by the time I get on.

The plane was headed for Ann Arbor Mich. and they had already started the operation to remove the bad organs when they heard the plane went down. This person is in bad shape. But that is all they will say because of confidentiality.

They have not had the best weather to search in. Windy. And that causes waves. Not good for doing searches. They say the plane is in only twenty feet of water. But it nosed right in at 200 plus miles per hour. No way anyone survived that. They all must have died on impact. I imagine the plane must be broken up as well. It will take some time to pull the wreckage out of the lake.

From what I learned they like to send a team of doctors involved in the transplant to see that the new organs are what they need. Even removing the organs themselves because they feel they are responsible for the whole operation.

I think they will start having second thoughts about that. Two pilots and four doctors is a lot of valuable people to loose in one accident. When you consider all the doctors spcialised in this operation you loose a whole team. Going to be hard to replace.

'Mornin' to all.

Personal note on content of Imponderable Water Cooler thread: far too much editing going on.

About the plane crash, it hits pretty close to home. They were delivering a lung (two?) here to a critical patient, prepped and waiting in the OR. The early reports said lung, more recent ones say undisclosed. Guess it doesn't matter as far as the particulars. The patient's future is now unknown.

Here's the website for those interested in more info and wishing condolences and such.

http://www.med.umich.edu/survival_flight/update/index.html

Still waiting for the 17% I promised. Sorry folks. I'll check for better news...

In rereading that I didn't intend to come across as harsh saying "piss off, I'm tired of reposting images for you". It could be read that way, but I certainly didn't mean that.

Better phrased would be: If it were a simple image, I'd certainly repost it from something that you can see from (at least I assume that you can). But it is a flash animation thingy, so that would be difficult.

Nathan says important words. Well worth the time viewing/listening.

First of all, fuck you, Johnny. How's that for not editing? Better?

Second, I never actually wrote anything in that {edited for content} section anyway. I figured it would be best not to.

Third, I'm not going to continue to post and re-post the same old pictures because it's too much of a drag on the systems and there's really no need to (as FlyVote and Mavourneen already pointed out).

I think I'm just not an artsy person. That site just made me pissed and likely raised the chance I would commit a violent act.

I just sat there thinking "who the f are you to be telling me the entire world is in trouble because of violent males? where's the research? why in the world would art be the way to get the message out? is this guy older than a teenager, because that's exactly how this sounds. I got to thinking for 10 minutes and decided the world is wrong and I'm right. why is this site moving along so very slowly doesn't this guy think we have anything better to do with our time? man nathan rocks"

I mean it's not like that guy's message is a bad one. It just comes off as totally pretentious and belittling. Like no one else has ever thought about this before. I couldn't even figure out what was secret about this. In fact it should be the exact opposite. (@*&#$@ the whole site is just terrible IMO

I didn't want to post anything that negative about it in the thread solely about that site, but man it turned me off violently.
