And there in lies the rub. Heh. Love the scratchy manly face...hate the burn.

I actually had a friend who would scratch you on purpose when he gave you a hug. Dork.

God I miss my male friends. I need some male friends, stat.

High maintenance, hmmm. I think someone who always has to be dressed up, demands attention regardless of the situation, has to do activities involving money and has to do with posturing/appearance, and has to have the best of everything. I'd go insane trying to keep up with that. Not that it is a long trip. Just happens to be one I don't wanna take.

That's pretty much what I'd decided.... of course I still have to wait for MisterG to get back from the gym before I go pick up the take-out...

Rugbug- ok I'd send you mine, but they're kinda unruly and a bit violent ( well ok several make CMH seem restrained) and some of them are kinda smelly...but they're fun and they will beat people up on command ( also they can move a VW bug that's parked too close to your bumper by picking it up and literally moving it elsewhere)

NV- hmmm interesting..see I get more than a few cracks at work about being high maintenance for having my nails and hair done, wearing jewelry, and being a bit insistent on things being done right

Just realized a few weeks ago how high maintenance "She" actually is after GND met and hung out with her and her son for a few minutes at the park playing volleyball. I guess she did the "I can't play too hard or I'll get dirty and might alter my appearance for the guy I met at the bar" thing. Something bothers me about a woman who can't get dirty while playing. Working, I can see that is usually unavoidable. But if a person is gonna play then it should be hard and for keeps.

Few great games can be played without getting dirty.

I just miss mine sometimes. They've all moved away and gotten married. Was a time when most of my friends were men. Not any more. I have a hard time coming up with a single one (not a single one, as in not married or dating...just one). That makes me sad.

I need to get out to where the men are. Where are you guys again?

As for high maintenance...I can resemble that remark. If I've taken the time to get dolled up for the day, I really don't want to get all dirtied up before the big shebang. If it's just any old day, though, you'll often find my quite dirty...embarrassingly so. I'm certainly not one of those woman who can wear white to the barn and leave 3 hours later spotless. I dont know how they do it.

Ok who cares what they look like while playing sports. Lets face it you all get sweaty and rumpled and you hair falls out of your pony tail etc... what's the point. That's like those weird women who wear make-up and matching tops/pants at the gym...what is that??

MSG - Yeah, back when I used to have my hair down to my mid-back, I wound up getting it pulled in fights all the time. I thought guys would be above that type of thing, but that's also back when I believed honor was still a highly valued trait. Ex: I have never once used the "Well I could just shoot you" line against someone who could kick the crap out of me, but I've heard it used against me close to 100 times.

Also, for the record I am a fairly tiny guy. I catch no end of shit from the alpha-males for it, and it's really all I can do to get them to leave me alone by makign it known that I'm not above biting or eye gouging. Yeah, no hair pulling or scratching, but eye gouges, bites and groin kicks are all good.

RugBug - Males are getting more intelligent and realizing that it's a poor idea to hang around with women. Sorry, but you're SOL.

Ha, that's a lie... males aren't getting intelligent...

High maintainence? The most attracted I've ever been to a female was at a very rare stage in the military where I was around females. She didn't wear any make-up, and I never saw her in anything besides fatigues and PT gear. That was over half a year ago, and I still can't shake her image from my mind.

So no, I'm not really attracted to the high maintainence type.

Some day I'd like to be tired of Thai. That won't be anytime soon.

That wouldn't be my definition of "HM". When a woman spends a disproportionately significant amount of time/effort on herself to the exclusion of spending time on others, that is a woman who is high maintenance. Or worse when a man needs to go to some large effort to support a self-absorbed woman. My wife, much like you MSG (in reference to your hair/nails) has respect for herself and wants to appear more than just minimally presentable.

Edit to say that the phrase "high maintenance" has been twisted to apply to almost any beautiful woman. Out of spite or jealousy the term has been used because any woman "made up to be beautiful" must (it is incorrectly assumed) spend a lot of time on herself.

I can agree. It just isn't the asthetics, but the attitude. I spent some time with a girl that didn't like you tou touch her hair, smear her makeup, etc. It was freakin annoying. Never f'ing again. I can hardly see MSG as being high maintenance. She takes care of herself and others and happens to look good doing it. That is just good role modeling.

ADD: Chris, I am at the entry level fo being a big guy (depite what people say there are guys easily twice my size just within the tribe). It was always, ALWAYS the smaller guys with strength and the will to employ less than favorable tactics that were the focus of the first attack. Little bastards always find the opening between clashing titans. And props on the laughs. Seems I gotta chech the stitches when I get home.

Out for the day folks. Goodnight.
