I'm a little more than halfway through Death Masks.
I am very much blinking and twitching a lot reading the encounter with the trench-coated guy. Tripping me out.
Just thought I'd share.

Things don't seem to be going the greatest with the bar patrons this week, do they? es all.

New cat bucket is basically up and running. Not all sub-albums have been loaded up, but mostly everything is there now.

Also, I am basically out of money. I can probably pay my insurance this month, but gas and food are starting to seem very, very expensive. This is bad.

Rose, I don't know how you feel about it, but have you considered getting a position as a waitress, at least to hold you over until you find something more suited to your liking? It is an easy trade to learn, and the main job function is being nice to people so they will give you money. If you can memorize a menu and be sure to smile every time you refill the tea, you can make easy money, enough to get by on at least.

I am not sure if you have done it before or not (bad memory) but I thought it was worth recommending. It's easier than cleaning RVs, at any rate, and you can make about the same pay if you find a decent restaurant. *hugs*

No, I haven't ever done it before. But I am starting to consider it.
Guess I could start with the Perkins down the street. I've eaten there so much I have most of the menu memorized anyway.
*sigh*

All you gotta keep thinking to yourself Rose is that it's only temporary. I'm pretty sure there ain't many people that look to waiting tables as a permanent solution to their financial problems. To most, it's just something to tide them over 'til something more intriguing comes along, bringing more stimulating and financially rewarding challenges with it.

Just gotta keep your chin up PR. To paraphrase a certain cap'n:

Good morning 'ole Browncoat Bar & Grill!

Barkeep...a coke, if you please!

I've started my own job search. My current job is way too stressful. The sad thing is that I've very good at it, but I just can't handle the stress of the constant phone calls ( I take calls from Medicare providers). I need something where I control what I do, not some stupid non-stop phone!

Morning, everyone.

Waiting tables isn't bad, as longs as the restaurant you are at is halfway decent. With tips, most people walk with the equivalent of $10-12/hr. I've waited tables, I'va also been a hostess. It's not too bad, and you are already used to working in the evenings. Evenings are when you make decent money, but it can be a hustle.

Penguin, I worked many years ago at the corporate headquarters for Hechinger/Home Quarters/Builder's Square, and I had to wear a headset I took so many calls. I handled calls from over 500 stores at the chain's prime. I totally understand wanting to get away from that.

*hug* to RIMG.

I'm eating baked fruit crisps. It's a singular experience. They're very tasty, but it's odd to eat something crunchy like that when it tastes sweet.

Hello everyone.

*Grabs a mug of the good stuff*

I've had a hell of a night.

First, I get woke up at 4:30AM to find out that my godmother is in the emergency room, 'cause she hasn't been feeling good. At about 7:30 going on 8 we find out that it's an infection in her throat.

So then I go back to sleep.

At 9:30, my godbrothers girlfriend wakes me up (They live in the apartment above mine) 'cause he took her car to work, and his wouldn't start, so she woke me up to sit outside with her to wait for triple A. They came about two hours later.

and now here I am.

I was referring to the person that we would supposedly sacrifice, and Rose said one body part into another, and I naturally though of an asshat picture without having to photoshop an ass onto someone's head.

*hugs*

I apologize for any confusion. :-\

EDIT: mornin' MsG *hugs*, zero

Sounds like a hell of a day so far zero, hopefully the rest goes more smoothly.

I was thinking more along the lines of a 'go fuck yourself' than 'asshat' anatomy meeting anatomy, but okay then.

And if I could find someone who wanted to pay me for posing nude, I probably would be okay with it. It's really good money. Doesn't seem likely, though. I may be sexy, but I'm not really pin-up fodder. Too much belly. Though I should look at the art schools around here, maybe.

Seriously though if you're going to be waitstaff may I sugges hiring on with a catering company. The hours are more flexible and there's no real ogling going on, plus the tips are amazing because the staff splits them and the tip usually runs into the hundreds per person. Also, it's fun to work all the big fancy parties.

I would say look in the yellow pages under catering, then just call them. If they're hiring, find out how you apply. If not, you haven't wasted a trip (and the increasingly more valuable gas in your car). :)

Yeah look up catering companies and call them up. They are always looking for help, but they pay better than regular waitress jobs and they're almost always evening or afternoon. I'd suggest also calling up hotels and banquet services as they do catering and events.
