Ok I converted for you Hobbleit and it's 37 degrees celcius here...and not cloud in the sky.
Which is so lovely without the air conditioning.( sarcasm alert)

Hey send some of your clouds this way Jimi and Mav

Edit- ok I got 36.5 so I must have done something wrong (since I was doing it in my head that's likely)

97 - 32 = 65
65 / 9 = 7.222222222222
7.22 * 5 = 36.111111111

Still way to hot to be without A/C

I'm a Fahrenheit/Standard Unit kinda gal. I know others speaks teh Celsius- I just scratch my head.

Just applied for a decent job, close to home working at an engineering firm as a Net Researcher and Coordinator.
Most of the engineers I know are coolio and major Browncoats. (As witness, see the engineer directly above me! )

You can have my clouds, MsG. The humidity is making me wilt. I'd rather hot and dry any day. This is gross. Luckily the sun has come out a bit.

Ah thanks Jimi

Oh goody clouds...we're getting no clouds for at least a week and tomorrow , which is our field trip day, it's supposed to be 100 degrees...which is 37.7 celcius....and of course no school bus has air conditioning and for the first half of the day we will be at an outdoor historical park...

Be sure to get one of those spray bottles that has a little fan attached. They lightly mist you and it is awesome on a hot day.

Gotta run up to the bank to (YAY!) deposit Kevin's first paycheck.

Back soon.

Yeck...that's hot msg.

The marine layer has already dissolved so that means it's going to be warmer today. Actually, I can still see it closer to the beach but the view from my window is mostly beautiful bluey-ness.

I'm sort of dreading the horse show we are leaving for tomorrow. It will be in the 90s and I have to wear long sleeve shirt and a black wool coat...and a helmet. Eek. Just for an hour or two, but still eek.
That is NOT a recipe for cool.

Kinda snooty of us in the U.S. to use Farenheit/Standard Units when most of the rest of the (civilized) world used Celcius/Metric (RIMG heart the metric system, powers of 10 are so easy).

Ugh, I'll take wet heat over dry heat any day. *insert JQ-esque witty/dirty comment here *

Yay for depositation of the paycheck (yes, I make up my own words, as well as use others' made up words). *hugs Mavs*

Sucks on the heat/field trip MsG. Make sure you and your students stay hydrated, and treat yourself to a cool bath or shower (and a cold drink) at the end of the day. :)

Hey MsG, does the Utah school system go year-round? It just occurred to me (brain obviously not functioning) that you're still working.

And poor RugBug. I don't envy you a bit. Almost makes me feel bad about working in the air-conditioning...almost.

Yeah Rugbug I remember those days. Always thought with the heat of a working horse and the outfit it was a miracle no one died of heat stroke

Actually I am teaching summer school. but poor Neko only gets a few weeks off before she has to go back...

As for A/C, our office has it, but the corner I am in shares a wall with the outside world, so the temp in our cubicle is usually pretty in sync with the outside. :\

Hey all,

It's sunny here, but I'm having a massively blah day. I'm trying to psych myself up for the appointment with the new doctor next week, and instead just getting more depressed about the increasing likelihood that I have lupus. And my nose has been bleeding off and on since yesterday evening, which is annoying as hell and this morning I read is a symptom of an on-coming lupus flare. I'm actually hoping I'll be feeling crappy when I go to see the doctor next week so that he won't brush me off, but it's going to take a lot of energy to get to the appointment in the first place.

And I have to go to the store to get milk before I can have my coffee. Bad day abrewin'.

This reminds me of the wall in the women's bathroom at the gym. It's have tiled and then black on top. I didn't realize it was an exterior wall with a window until I was standing by it and it was all sauna like. The heat coming off of that thing was amazing.

We have A/C at work. In fact, it's always an ice locker in my little room. Enough that my hands and feet usually have a blue-ish tinge. As soon as you leave our room, it gets noticeably warmer.

*hug* CK. So sorry to hear the health troubles.

I tried to answer earlier but computer decided it was an opportune moment to lock up.

I can't imagine wearing full horsey gear in heat like this. No thanks!

RIMG, Carson is learning metric and SI together. Hopefully once he becomes an adult, metric will be ingrained. I didn't learn metric until middle school, and by then it was too late.

In our labs it gets cold like that, and I love it. The lady who sits next to me has to have several sweaters, a shawl, and a blanket to go down there.

I didn't really learn/use metric until high school chemistry/physics, but I like knowing both.

Milk obtained, coffee in hand, and re-realized that even a diagnosis of lupus is better than no diagnosis at all. Sigh.

Are we past the mandate? Or are we ignoring it cuz it's so quiet today?

CK - Oh, yeah, totally past the mandate. Of course, as Jonny has explained it to me, most of us are heathens who like to ignore the mandate (except Nico, but he's from Oz so it doesn't count for some reason).
