I just did a quick search, it looks like there will be a new comic coming out Septemberish, maybe later from Dark Horse called "Better Days"

You’ve got a new Serenity comic coming out too, correct?

Serenity will be out from Dark Horse pretty soon. It’s coming along with Joss Whedon and I. It’ll be a story called “Better Days.” It will come out, probably, in the later half of this year, September and on. I really like the story we’re doing-but obviously, just being in that universe again is really great.

Some things, man just wasn't meant to know, like how Wayne Static does his hair... It's the Devil's hair gel I tells you!

I heard it's now been moved to January, because Joss has been busy with the BtVS comic. I don't have a link (this was word of mouth on www.stillflying.net), but Dark Horse's schedule is listed to October 31 and does not include SERENITY.

Damn. I've been waiting with baited breath for it to come out. Of course it's not as good as an episode, but as a comic book junkie I'll take Firefly where I can get it

At least I've got Astonishing X-Men....

The most recent word said January, yes. We'll probably hear one way or the other if that's still the case this week at Comic-Con.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Yep, January is the new release date, or so word has it. Nothing in Previews or on Dark Horse's site to make it "official" but I would not expect it before then.

Since Joss is doing "Season 8" of BtVS in comic form, how shiny would it be to have "Season 2" of Firefly in comic form?

Very shiny indeed! I'd take it any way I could get it!

I hope Joss decides to do that so the 'Verse can continue in some form.

It's not Joss, but our little fanfic "virtual continuation" project over at www.stillflying.net is pretty well-received. We're 25 episodes on (so that's well over a thousand pages of Firefly-y goodness for those who haven't tried us yet), with only 4 episodes left in Season Two.

Why not give us a look while you wait for January to roll around? :)

You won't be disappointed! These folks are doing a fine job of continuing the 'Verse for us.

Well, I don't think the January thing has had a public announcement. It's just something I heard from someone at Dark Horse who would know.

But, as I said, I'm presuming we'll have some sort of more obvious word on this out of Comic-Con.

Yeah, I've been kind of combing the web, looking for early word of something besides Sylar is playing Spock in the next Trek film, but no dice yet, except for maybe that JJ Abram's "Cloverfield" may be called Monstrous. Hmmmmm....

Bix, did you get to go to ComicCon? Did I see that you'd made plans to go on Whedonesque? Might you regale us with news from said con? That'd be very nice.

I won't be there until Saturday. Flying in just before midnight Friday.

(Although I still do not have Saturday floorspace lined up, so I don't yet know where I'm sleeping that night, heh.)
