Ok so i cant get conformation on this and im hoping someone on here can help shed some light on this. Im confused on which way the Indepencence Flag/ Logo is supposed to be pointing. Is the star supposed to be pointing up? or down?
I think i have seen it both on the show, and i hear people saying the "correct" way is with the star pointing down. But on wikipedia it states that it was suppose to be pointing up but was switched by accident and sometimes shown upside down. So does anyone have a solid answer on this?
I posted this on yahoo answers and on imdb and have yet to get a responce...
Thanks ahead of time!!

The way it has always been explained to me is the star points down.

The star does indeed point down.

When they were putting it on the uniforms for the battle scenes, the costumer was told to put the patch on with the point up. Problem is, they didn't specify which point was supposed to go up, so they made the triangle point up instead of the star within the triangle. Nathan just kept it that way because he liked it.

I think the patch was originally designed to have the star pointing up (and therefore the triangle pointing down) but it is usually seen the other way around.

I'm gonna show you a little trick that mom showed me when you weren't around. It was for special events just like this. Oh yeah, one more thing...I'm glad you changed your last name, you son of a bitch!

Yea...i figured that would be the best way to express me being a "Browncoat" I thought about doing the kanji and maybe the ship, but i was wanting to do something more different, and havent seen anyone with that yet so maybe ill be one of the first, might still get the serenity logo but havent completly decided

Well im currently watching the Serenity episode, and the patch that he pulls off the dead Lt. is the star pointing up and the triangle pointing down...but Mal's is with the triangle pointing up, and the star pointing down. So if thats the way Mal wants it...thats the way I am gonna have it. I have to follow my captain!!
