They canceled a show after one episode. Is anyone surprised that Fox did it. So it was a bad reality show called Anchorwoman. I wonder who will and what will be the first Primetime Non-Reality show to be canceled after one episode.

Given that it's a reality show, I'm surprised F*X gave it the boot so soon.

I'm sure there have been a few series through the years which only aired the pilot episode then were canceled. Nowadays, with many shows being filmed in chunks, it is unlikely anything would be shut down after one episode. Worst case scenario would be something along the lines of what happened with Drive: air the first 4-5 episodes that were on the shelf then pull the plug before it could get off the ground.

Wasn't there one show, many years ago, that actually got yanked off the air during a commercial?

I think it was called, "So you want to be a FOX executive." Lobotomies are free, village idiots are welcomed with five extra points, Gumbys get extra points for pounding bricks on their heads. But for the all time prize you have to be a really Great Twit!

I heard Anchorwoman was neither good enough nor bad enough to satisfy the suits.
But didn't see the show, so....

Can't remember a TV show yanked during broadcast.

Wasn't there a summer "series" a while back in which
they showed pilots for un-picked-up shows?

Have heard a few radio guests smothered...heh.

I think their has been pilots that they shot one one episode and they wanted to see if they would make more episode but they never did. This was a series that they intended to run longer but canceled it after one episode.

STOWEAWAY

Does FOX seem to be moving towards airing an episode or two then making the rest available online? Perhaps they plan to make it their new "TV" format. One episode is shown like an extended commercial. Then you can buy the remaining episodes for example $2 each to download and watch at your convenience.
Networks have been looking for ways to reduce production costs (thus the proliferation of crappy reality shows). Wouldn't that be the ultimate setup for them?
I'm not much of a "conspiracy theorist" but it just seems to make sense.
