Doing fine, thanks.

Coming down with an ick, but I'll get over it. I think my pestilential but cute nephews gave it to me. 4 and almost 3, how can you not take the hugs?!

Work is work, but it could be (and has been)worse.

Son loves 3rd grade so far!

We rearranged his room the other day and I put up five shelves running along one wall (8'each). He now has somewhere to put all the cr*p his indulgent relatives send him.

Mind you, it's some pretty cool cr*p...

He's picking up stuff while waiting for me to free up the computer for his movie viewing pleasure.

Realized this afternoon in the middle of surgery that the 8th was Mom's Bday. Not much to do but call later. That's OK, it's her 57th and she's probably just as happy to forget it.

29 and holding, that's the family motto.

How's tricks with you?

Your standard Sharpie marker would work. Might want to use a laundry marker to make sure it doesn't fade too quickly. Or a disappearing marker (lasts 24 hours or so) for when you have to change his room number because a)he's trying to hide because he's all worn out, or b) the line to his room has gotten insane.

A suggestion for all our Lady Browncoats as they travel in company with Browncoat guys.....

ok....

item 1.) 70% of all men are able to pick up signals from females who may be interested...

item 2.) the other 30% are split between those who believe every lady is hitting on them and those who believe no lady would ever hit on them....

item 3.) for that unfortunate small percentage in the latter group, who have an inability to pick up signals, and you witness one of your browncoat brothers going by in oblivion......

item 4.) LET THEM KNOW IMMEDIATLY, NOT 2 WEEKS LATER!!

It's been a week and I'm finally getting to the point of developing coherent thoughts :) Already saving up for next year!

Absolutely great photos of the parade.
I had no idea.
Overwhelming actually, reminds me of:
"No. This is must be what going mad feels like."

I personally would have been overwhelmed and lost in the masses. I'm not much of a crowd person. I found last December's Browncoat Back-Up Bash at my threshold, and it had only 300 attendees--all wonderful, btw. Browncoats are all warm and welcoming--like family (even better since they all love what you love and the only demands they make are from FOX and Universal ). With the tens of thousands at DragonCon, well,....I gues I prefer the less populated BorderWorlds.

I saw one of the YouTube videos for which the link was provided earlier. It was great to see the large company of the 76th, and seeing Cedric and Hawke again. I love your photos of Browncoats carrying the flags for the Independents (I hadn't seen such representations before). And one of your photos shows the back of someone wearing a costume of Serenity (the ship) as well! I'd love to see the whole costume in its glory (though don't tell me how might produced the firefly effect).

ANyway, thanks for sharing.

You are just going to have to resign yourself to the fact that you are want-worthy. (That goes for you too Jimmi, in fact that goes for all the browncoat fellas I met.)
It's all in the attitude.
(Please do NOT go overboard and start acting like you believe you are TPTB's gift to all womankind.. there is a delicate threshold on just how much self confidence we are willing to put up with.) If you're interested in her, and willing to let her be interested in you, you'll probably have fun getting wherever the two of you are likely to end up.

Panel lines?

The line would rival the panels only because your manners would not allow you to empty the room before the audience in situ was ready to leave, I'm sure.

"I've been waiting in line for Hot Bearded Love for almost three hours now. I heard it's worth it!"

hey, we're good at starting rumors.

Don't feel bad Zeph, I'm one of that minority of women who doesn't realize a fellow's not just being friendly unless he really makes it obvious. Of course, the girls at work would quickly point out that most men are apparently constantly testing the waters with anything that floats, so to speak.

I married an oblivious guy. I decided that I wanted to try out hubby, then had to spend a couple months chasing him down. He finally looked up just before I nailed him with the cast iron skillet with "ya wanna?" engraved in it.
13 years later, here we still are.

gah! as if. but, yes, polite and manners I can do. I was always taught that "politeness counts".

but the line? probably not so much. they probably would think its a panel, and be very very dissappointed when it turns out to be a sasquatch understudy.

that might be a good way to get a fellas attention, but most conventions are only 3-4 days long, and I am not sure I would regain consciousness by that time. However, I am starting to believe that may be what it takes with me.

Very true. Took me years to figure out that women like confidence in a man, though as SR stated not overly confident. Being confident also makes it a lot easier to talk to and interact with the fairer sex.

confidence. i remember having that. some time back in the late 70's i believe it was.

Time to get it back bud. You are a great guy and I am proud to call you not only a comrade in the 76th, but a friend.

So, no more of this negativity Captain. That's an order.

Medics can pull rank on *anybody* if it's needed.

Don't make me come over there, mister.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Plus, if we add two LTs, and a PFC, I think that might beat a Captain (two bars with a couple of funny little hats). Plus, as your chief medic, I find it medically imperative that you have that confidence once again. :)

Darling, a true lady takes off her dignity with her clothes and does her whorish best. At other times you can be as modest and dignified as your persona requires.

If the universe has any purpose more important than topping a woman you love and making a baby with her hearty help, I've never heard of it.

There ya go. Simple math:

(LT)2 + PFC > Captain

We win!
