The unit I have been training w/ for the last 2 years is deploying to Iraq today. Because of Opsec I can't say where. It was hard watching them leave today. I would have been leaving myself today but I recently got orders to EOD school.

Men and women of US Armed Forces and My Guys - E Co 3-7 IN BN, 4th BCT, 3ID and My best friend R. Lawrence. See you in a year and a half bro and I love ya.

May they keep their heads down, their spirits high, and the luck to get a cushy spot!
My prayers go with them.

Our very best until we see them all home again...

Lighting up another row of virtual candles in
what is by now a vast bank of them.

A thousand prayers, amillion wishes-
But nothing, if not they were true. And, to these, I give my all.
May they be safe- safe of body, mind, and spirit.

and every time I play with passion I start breaking strings,
and my voice cracks when I sing from my heart
guess that's the price I've got to pay to know that I'm alive
this melody is tearing me apart

We applied the cortical electrodes but were unable to get a neural reaction from either patient.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

My thoughts are with them, as they are with all our men and women in the service overseas, but especially in Iraq and Afghanistan. May they be safe, keep their ammo dry, their aim be true and their hearts light.

Thanks guys. They will probably arrive in Kuwait late today and will stay there for about 2 weeks until they move out to their forward operating base in Iraq.

This thread got me to thinking about what I can do for them back home. I know I can't sustain a whole Batallion but I was thinking about something I could do back here specifically for my previous company. It really sucks that I can't be there w/ th em but maybe I can help make there time there less miserable.

Any ideas?

My thoughts are with them. Would they like t-shirts that say, "Let's Be Bad Guys"? Whatever you decide to do, let us know. We would like to help, too.
