......consider, the number of low-lifes, no-talent pinheads, and morally bankrupt "people" and "things" out there that MAJOR CORPORATIONS sponsor and fund endlessly across a vast multitude of pan-humanic media entities, I cannot help but to wonder and ask why can't Firefly, the coolest, greatest, most amazing TV show ever...why can't it be loved and adapted by at least ONE or a COUPLE of the big boys....then they go to the networks and assure them of sponsorship...then Joss & Co. go back to work making more Firefly. Does it work that way...ever? Or does it work by FIRST having A SHOW and THEN selling the sponsors on it? There MUST be very intelligent and connected Browncoats out there somewhere, so do it already...please.

Why?
Because Angel villanized lawyers (More then they already where, anyways), and the shadowy CORPORATION behind Firefly was akin to Coca-Cola and Wal-mart combined. The buisness folk don't take at all kind to that, I 'spect.

guess that's the price I've got to pay to know that I'm alive

That's interesting, but Corporate hypocrisy is everywhere...tons of shows mock something in the business world. Heck...besides Christians & Jews & Bush these days, lawyers are the only things left in the world that can be ridiculed openly for public consumption. There are also other avenues besides those you mentioned....like service, telecom, financial corporations, etc. I'll agree with you that Firefly might be a bit too racy & politically incorrect for many corporations, but gorram it, I gotsta beleive there's some big companies who would be willing to support it either exactly as it was, or perhaps with a tad more palatable taste for those so easily offended by whatever. I also know there's probably some out there that are deeply outraged and over the use of the dead cow fetus, or facsimile of the dead cow fetus for 5 minutes in one episode.

Here s another thought I just had. There is a history of shows jumping to other stations having limited success and hoping for better success at their new station. Some examples are Taxi, Politically Incorrect, and Craig Kilborn's version of the Daily Show which he changed the name of. I think maybe that stations are becoming a little gun shy at receiving these types of shows and may need a little extra encouraging.

BROWNCOATSANDINISTA

This sort of thing did happen. In the Middle Ages, up through the Renaissance, and about until we started demanding democracy. Then there were no kings/queens/emperors/empresses &c. to provide patronage ((Cause that is what we're talking about here.))

Could it work today? Sure, if Bill Gates is a Browncoat ((And it'd honestly be a drop in the bucket for him. We might be able to sell it to him as "Media Promoting Multiculturalism and Bilingualism" or some such.)) or if Joss or someone in the cast/crew turns out to be Duchess Anastasia's Grandson/daughter. Patronage is an idea I've been thinking about lately ((Particularly how nice it would be to have a patron)).

It'd be nice if we could get someone to provide Patronage, but the real question is, to paraphrase Mal - "Who can afford it and might just need it?"

If we can answer that, then we might get the BDS ((Sequel or show, As You Like It)).

I think it's just too late. We'll be lucky to get a few more comic books and a sequel to Serenity.

You probably are right, but I am never going to totally give up hope. A second movie would be great, but I hope for a continuation of the series. I just went through the series again for the umpteenth time, and it really amazes me that I love Firefly more with each viewing....it always satisfies me in a way no other show ever has. A Browncoat friend of mine at work & I continue to talk about Firefly almost every day, even after all these years.

Cool, that's why I'm still on this board.
