I saw that too, and I'm excited about mroe adventures. I also take some excitement in the constant referrals to novels. That would be nice too.

Why oh why won't the Browncoats die?

Because we're too pretty to die, Milford.

I agree on the novels thing. I'd love to read a novel about Mal and co. from Joss.

'Course I'd love to see a movie, DVD or a miniseries or series about Mal and co. from Joss too.

In the meantime, I'll be waiting impatiently for the next comics.

I'd settle for a brief pamphlet explaining the differences as to how people on the rim tie their shoes as to how people in the core tie their shoes.

I'm starvin.

A novel would be a wet dream! Technically he could do that during the striking, right?

It’s wonderful that Joss's affection for the ‘verse hasn’t waned. Firefly/Serenity has proven to be something you just can’t let go of.

Someone help...?

Wow... that did make me smile a good big smile!
Who knows, comics-made-movies is a big deal to studios right now. Maybe if Firefly spends some time in comic rotation we can get another movie!
Any more serenity is good serenity... although I would LOVE for them to say "the movie never happened... it is it's own thing..." and pick up with the tv series again. It's happened before with other franchises and both seem to still be enjoyable. I know I'm mostly dreamin' but I do love to dream!

I'm reading the printed article now while at work. Printing out the articles allows me to mark them for reference and thoughts and to actually put the article down and be able to pick it back up where I left off.

SHAMELESS

I must say, after reading about how Mr. Big Purple is so excited about Dollhouse, I was getting a little worried about where Serenity and Firefly now lay within his heart - in a special place that he will always treasure but has moved on from, or in a special place that he will always treasure and obsess over the need to tell the story?

Clearly, it's the latter! ^.^

RPG launcher bought in third world country illegally - $10
Landmines - $50 per
Attack/track dogs bred 1st class - $250-500 per
Highpowered assault rifles - $600 per
The look on your face when I show up on your doorstep with a bigfoot - ... Priceless

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Great article! Thanks for the link TD.

It is good to hear that Joss can't let go. Gives a body hope. Course we browncoats don't let go either.

I sure would like some novels. I understand it is Joss's baby and all and he is particular about it, but we have browncoats who are authors (Keith DeCandido & Steve Brust) who would do great novels and their love of the 'verse would make them more than worthy of Joss's vision. I know Joss is busy and hasn't the time for novels, so why not let others take a crack at it?

Good find and it is really great to hear that even though nothing is in the works Joss is still thinking about our 'verse and has more story to tell.

His comment about wanting to keep his baby to himself is the main reason i've never read any fan-fiction.

Without totally hijacking this thread, do any Browncoats have any favorite fan-fiction that is a good substitute until we can actually get more from Joss?

... I'm in.

Over on the OB it has been pointed out (Thanks, Flyhead!) that this PW article has a link for Comments. Might be a good idea if some of us mosey over there and politely thank PW (a major name in Journalism) for posting the Article. Might also suggest that they post more Whedonesque-type stuff in the future. It's the Browncoat thing to do, doncha think?

BRINGITBACK

I would love to read novels...but I am of the thinking that a novelisation of firefly would mean the end of any comeback.

Thats why Joss is holding out.

George Lucas did the same thing with Star Wars.

He let the novels go in the 80's...became super rich on them, and then when he wanted to make more movies, he couldnt go forward cos that would mean going against a multi million dollar source of income and pissing off millions of fans...

So he went back with the story and pissed them off anyway ;)

When the time comes, an the crew are all too old or Joss has officially given up...then give us some novels...but make damn sure they are amazing.

Yep, same here.

I've been pissed that there hasn't been any novels (or any new material) released, especially since there are Buffy-verse books out there.

But it really warms my heart that he cares that much about it also...
