Mmmmm, do you think our BDM would have had more luck at the box office with another title, more like River The Reavers Slayer???

Or how about Serenity: Firefly Class

But then maybe they couldn't even use Firefly anywhere in the title at all.

AURAPTOR

America loves a winner!

I guess Mal couldn't have called his ship 'Serenity Valley', as that would be just too literal. But a movie by that name might have helped give some perspective into Mal's character, especially in light of Jayne's remarks about Mal and Zoe's surviving the battle.

But beyond the whole 'Serenity' angle, this movie is tough to nail down as having a single, all important theme. How do you bring along a dedicated fan group ( us Browncoats ) while introducing the whole ready made 'verse to a whole new audience?

An obvious no-no would be " What's eating River Tam ? "

" The Adventures of Captain Mal" seems a tad lacking as well.

What about " Unification Day " ?

Or......hell, I got nothin'.

"Hillary tried to get a million dollars for the Woodstock museum. I understand it was a major cultural and pharmaceutical event. I couldn't attend. I was tied up at the time." - John McCain

It is not those who use the term "Islamo-Fascism" who are sullying the name of Islam; it is the Islamo-Fascists. - Dennis Prager

" They don't like it when you shoot at 'em. I worked that out myself. "

How about naming the movie "London Calling?" It has nothing to do with the movie but according to that Article naming a movie after a city is a sure fire money maker.

Well that was the most pointless list ever. Most were sci-fis that uausally struggle at the box office while others were just small market dramas.

Its like he randomly picked some good/ok movies that didn't do well at the box office and blamed it on the name.

I agree with the above post.
COMPLETELY POINTLESS.

I could go some way to agreeing that Shawshank, Baron Munchausen and Zathura have unusual titles that some folks might have trouble saying/spelling.
But to blame the box office take on a title is just ridiculous.

The person obviously had nothing better to do and probably did it so we'd make a fuss over it.

How about we do a list of:
"The Shortest Titled SciFi Movies Ever" or
"Films That Begin With The Letter A"

"I don't believe in suicide, but if you'd like to try it it might cheer me up to watch."
