When something goes on the sale, what it means for the non-monetary value of the product? Does this mean that they have huge stock and not getting sold?

Do we learn something from it?

Apart from regular folk, opinions of economists or finance oriented people would be of great help.

I'm just regular folk, but having seen many cycles of Firefly going on sale and then back up again, I think it bodes no ill. It spikes sales for awhile, brings it back into the public eye, then they raise the price back up and clean house.

STOWEAWAY

Thank you, Legolas and all the rest of you shiny Browncoats in the know. I had totally missed the sales circular.
Went down there today to find only two on the shelf -- one in the "What's Hot this Week" section and one under Sci-fi. Hunted around for an associate and asked them to look it up. If there were more copies in the store, I WANTED THEM.
It took a brain bank of no less than three associates to look it up and tell me that clearly there were still 8 on the shelf (all the original release and NOT on sale). None of them could understand why I wouldn't just buy the first edition. "Isn't it the same movie?"
Finally my knight-in-shining-blue shirt arrived. The one associate in the store who was a Browncoat. He went searching while I checked out PS2 games and came back with at least 12 copies of the Collectors Edition.
I quickly grabbed 4 and resisted the urge to hug him. And begged him to give them a good spot on the shelf.
Short story long -- I GOT MINE !!!

BROWNCOAT1

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Excellent!

At $8.99 it makes a very affordable gift for everyone on your list.

Reckon I will have to stop by Best Buy on the way home for several copies to wrap and put under the tree.
