There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

I wouldn't carve this into your stone calendars just yet, since the programmers have been changing things at the last minute lately.

Eleven hours of Firefly, Monday, February 18. My conjecture at this time is that they will pick up where they left off the last time (Serenity-Bushwhacked) and complete the series with Shindig-Objects in Space. That is...unless they change the schedule again between now and then, or even three or four times between now and then.

I think it might be a good idea if we have an e-mail campaign, thanking Sci/Fi for scheduling the Marathon, and asking them to please keep it intact on their schedule .

We could wait until January 2nd to do it, after the Holidays. This would give us time to pass the word and get everyone we know to help. Then, on the second, e-mail feedback@scifi.com and (in your own words) Thank them and ask that they not change the schedule.

This sort of thing has actually worked before, and there's no reason to assume that it wouldn't have a positive effect this time. -Especially if we get enough folks to do it!

While we probably won't get the 11 hours currently scheduled, it's still a good idea to send them an early "Thanks" so they'll know that folks Will be watching Feb 18th!

They must have known that it was my birthday!

I think the email campaign is a good one. It needs to go beyond this board though. I can mention it on several that I frequent if we decide to do it.

Thanks! I've posted about it on the sci/fi board, the OB, serenitymovie.org, and here.

The more folks that know, the better!

IMHO, the better episodes are the later ones, so I hope they don't start with the first one either.

Since Sci/Fi showed the Pilot and the first two episodes on December 18, it's likely they'll pick up where they left off. -But then again, that makes sense, and Networks aren't all that prone to things that make sense, are they?

I agree, though: The nextfive episodes in the Lineup is a phenomenal group. Shindig, Safe, OMR, Jaynestown, OoG.... wow.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Sent my email to Sci Fi earlier this morning asking them not to back out on running the full marathon. Thanks for the link TDB.

I'll be tuning in to watch.

DEMORTES

Just thought this would be a good time to list my email to SciFi.

Greetings,

I would like to take a moment of my time to thank you early for scheduling a Firefly marathon on Feb. 18th. I have been a great fan of the show, and even though I own the DVD's containing the episodes and the movie Serenity, I would love to take a chance and watch your wonderful programming. I believe that the community for the fans of Firefly would greatly increase your ratings, and it would be best to appease not only me, but them as well. I feel you're well on your way.

One word of concern from me, however, is that last time a marathon like this was scheduled, it was interupted. This has displeased a great number of people, and as such, started a small campaign against your advertisers and your station. Obviously this is a lost cause when you lose viewers. I, among many of us, would greatly appreciate it if you keep the schedule currently in place. We would absolutely love you, I'm sure, if you expanded it, however I will not press that matter.

With all my respect,

Kevin Dethlefs-Moreno

P.S. I really wish all of you a Happy New Year.

Feedback welcome, especially for those that might use mine as a template. Please do change it, it shows the station you care.

You got that right, TD. It doesn't make sense, but here's what they have listed for February 18.

Serenity (Parts 1 & 2)
The Train Job
Bushwhacked
Out of Gas
Ariel
War Stories
Trash
The Message
Heart of Gold
Objects in Space

In my opinion, it makes no sense to run Trash if you don't run Our Mrs. Reynolds first. If I was making the decisions I would have done the smart thing and begin with Shindig this time and then run through the rest of the eps in their proper order. Or if it was felt it was necessary to run the pilot again, then skip The Train Job, Bushwhacked, The Message and Heart of Gold. Also, any Firefly marathon that does not include Jaynestown is bordering on criminal activity if you ask me.
