And the stranger sneaks in with a firsties while the rest of y'all are napping or playing with new toys or just doing general holiday stuffage.

Woohooo!

I've missed everyone. Life has been hectic. Work is crazy-ass, I hurt my back so sitting all day makes me miserable, but I'm sure it will get better soon. If not, I'm going to buy stock in Icy/Hot and care naught that I smell like an 80 year old with arthritis.

Christmas was...well, christmas. Always interesting times gettin together with family you don't see often.

Watched POTC 3 finally. It was good. Plus, Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom. What's not to like? I didn't quite get my Orlando fill though, so I watched Elizabethtown for the nth time. Love that one.

Um, yep...so that's it. 'Twas nice to see VE on the old thread.

Tried Pirates 3 while doing some decoy work but alas I got tired, cleaned up, then had a drink or five really mussing up the comprehension of the flick. Glad to see you drop in 'bug.

Pirates 3 is in my Netflix cue, if I ever get enough in my account to pay for it! Also have Bourne Ultimatum, and Harry Potter, plus Medium season 3. Mark Shepard is soooo fun in that show!

I have 6 locks on my door and bolt every other one. I figure no matter how long somebody stands there picking the locks, they're always locking 3 locks.

It's been way too long since I've been able to stop by FFF.net. I am on Winter Break for a couple of weeks, so I hope to catch up with what's going on in the 'Verse.

Sorry to hear that you hurt your back RugBug. Sounds like your back needs some TLC.

Christmas was good, except the kids kept us up late(4am) so I unplugged all teh alarm clocks and we didn't get up until 10:30. That'll learn 'em! My wife buys gifts all year long, so we ended up with quite a few for each kid, so they were very happy. Then we adults got to go back to bed, while my parents watched kids, and got another 4 hours of sleep. So it was a very merry holiday, and next week I get another 3 day weekend, so I can have a do-over!

I have 6 locks on my door and bolt every other one. I figure no matter how long somebody stands there picking the locks, they're always locking 3 locks.

Oh shiny imponderables. Happiness at seeing your typed words on screen.

It's is a blessed Friday. Blessed because I have all of next week off.

On tap for my vacation:

Lots of riding
Returning the two 'back-up' dresses I bought for the holiday parties
Possibly buying an iPod. (Eek. What to get? Nano, Shuffle, full blown big bad ass sucker?)
Taking down the Christmas explosion that is my tiny house
Cleaning said tiny house.
Getting new front brakes on the Jeep
Getting a loan so I can get a dental implant and will no longer be able to flash the big gapping hole in my maw.
Sleeping late...very late
Running every morning
Watching movies. I want to see Knocked Up and Waitress for sure. I plan on making use of the Red Box in the grocery store.

Hrmmm...can't think of anything else at the moment.

Very fine choice of movies. If you haven't seen: Mr Brooks, Home of the Brave, or Die Hard they are very cool flicks for inbetweens. You have one of the magical red boxy dealys. Right on. Sure is cheaper than Ballbuster and usually there is no line. Hope its a wonderful vacation.

ADD: Out for the weekend Ponderers. Loves to y'all and have a great New Year.

CHOLLETT

Happy Holidays! As far as Browncoat-ey Christmas swag, i recently acquired Waitress, as well as Serenity Found (I can't find Finding Serenity. Irony much?).

I reccommend Serenity Found to you all, as it has made me want to watch all the episodes again. Not that i, you know, needed it, but it boosted it. Also, purchasing it revealed that one of the managers where i work (Indigo Books, Marine Drive, North Vancouver, BC, Canada. Come by sometime! I usually work weekends.) is a Browncoat-to-be.....much dorking out about that.

Have yet to watch Waitress, but it is on my to do list.

But also, the fact that a young woman and very good friend o'mine that i've been pining for for some time has been potentially revealed (via a teasing brother) to have much mutuality in that, i have had a good holiday. Just sucks that she's off to whistler until school's back. *crosses fingers*

But hey, the two subjects that incur my dorkiness the most, both having positive developments? Can't complain. Good holiday.

And how are the rest o'y'all? Happy 2008!

I'm babbling like a moonbrain.

Happy New Year folks. It almost feels a little good to be back at work. I'm sure that will wear off quickly.

Funny you should mention The Waitress Chollett. I just saw that recently. It was a bit odd IMO. Not bad or anything. Just not what I expected.

Funny you guys should mention that... Did you know that Tim Burton made a version of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory with Jonny Deep in it? I bought it for $5 @ Wal*Mart, just because I wanted to see Jonny play Willy. It was interesting, but I like the old version way better.

Select to view spoiler:

The oompa-loompas didn't have orange suits at all. They had plenty of other colors, though. And Burton mamaged to put halloween in Willy Wonka. tsk tsk tsk.

Yeah... Don't know what else to say so I'll just end this post here.

There's a shadow just behind me,
shrouding every step I take,
making every promise empty,
pointing every finger at me.
Waiting like a stalking butler
who upon the finger rests.
Murder now the path called must we
just before the son has come.

Jesus, won't you f*cking whistle
something but the past and done?
Jesus, won't you f*cking whistle
something but the past and done?

Why can't we not be sober?
I just want to start this over.
Why can't we drink forever.
I just want to start things over.

I am just a worthless liar.
I am just an imbecile.
I will only complicate you.
Trust in me and fall as well.
I will find a center in you.
I will chew it up and leave,
I will work to elevate you
just enough to bring you down.

Mother Mary won't you whisper
something but what's past and done.

I like that one. I quit the intermittent smoking just after Christmas and want to get back into paint ballin' and maybe a few more walks. Seems before the upheaval last summer I was quite toned and it was amazingly killed off by a less than enthusiastic female counterpart. Wow. So far it's been a bad week. Of course, money/financial issues always make it sooooooooooooo much longer! I was reading some stuff in the RW thread, and what they were saying really hit a nerve, since several people thought that the economy is doing just fine, and I heartily disagree. I hate money. couldn't we get some kimd of barter/trade economy going?

I pretty much stay away from RWED stuff anymore. Seems I like to focus more on self discovery and creation than the faults of the world and others. Seems I can't feel right about criticizing others until things improve for myself. Occasionally its game on for me over there but hell, not enough energy for everything anymore.
