Anybody else think it wise to start a 'groundswell' of support for the idea that if the writer's strike were to continue much longer, Fox (or whomever) could do quite a bit worse than placing FireFly in the lineup for the summer?

Seems like a no-brainer to poke them with, as it's already in the can and it already has a devoted fan base.

Thoughts?

I'd rather see it on NBC...

But F*>< probably still has the TV rights locked

up...

Still , though they don't deserve it , better that

it be on F*>< than nowhere else...But , why wait

for Summer ?

Since they have Sarah Conner also ready-to-go ,

they should air Firefly after Sarah C.

I'm all for it. Who should we badger with our fatalistic, self-torturing hopes in the form of a staggeringly large number of emails?

(That sounded way more sarcastic than I meant it. I really am for it. I really want to badger people with emails. I'm just using my cynicism as a defense mechanism to keep from being hurt again.)

I mentioned that is something I would like to see in another thread.

Could be a good medium to package some of the episodes, and maybe even finish with Serenity, into a mini-series format to gauge response for a movie sequel or even a new mini-series.

Yeah this was suggested in another thread, it's a great idea!

I don't know how it would work though, since Uni HD has already announced they're going to be showing the series in 2008..that might have no effect at all, I have no clue how that stuff works.

Dunno who 'Uni' is....

My understanding is that licensing may or may not stop an airing this year - 'pends upon how it was writ.

Can you guys share email addys that we'd want to send the requests to - couldn't find feu on the FOX website.

Universal HD, the network that has shown the series before.

They're advertising its return in 2008. (Return of the OLD episodes, mind you :P)

'Uni' is Universal HD , a cable channel...Which is a unit of NBC/Universal...as is Sci-Fi...

Licensing IS what would be a potential show-stopper...But the F-Network probably still holds first dibs on re-airings , via 'broadcast'...

Joss might know the particulars of the situation...Would perhaps be worthwhile to air the question on Whedonesque...He might bite back with an answer , if he knows...

I figure if Joss has a deal in work with the F-Network , ala Dollhouse , it could be with the eventual motive of more future in the Firefly 'Verse...

By the by , I think you might mean 'fei-oo' , as what you couldn't find at the F-Network website...They might've learned a hard lesson , in the past , sometime...

...As in , Browncoats took 'em to school !
