This quote comes from the Apple site where they are promoting their new iPod mini.

"Oh, one other minor detail, you can choose your iPod mini in one of five trend-setting colors: silver, gold, green, pink or blue. (All shiny.)"

And they certainly are, shiny that is!

Yeah, I read that too yesterday and thought it was more than a coincidence.

Shiny!

Imagine if Pixar did a Firefly animated film? Shinier!

He offers Blue but not Brown. Thats just wrong. And adopting our catchphrase 'shiny'. Its to much. We need somekind of protest. Boycotts don't work cause I've never met anyone whose actually bought an apple computer...

I think when they say "shiny" meant it literally.

I think they're referring the IPod having a metallic or "shiny" surface, rather than it being an opaque surface like the original white IPod.

Many people here are Mac users I'm guessing. I'm one.I also think the term was being literal in describing the ipod minis.

Thanksgiving is a sham. But it's a sham with yams...it's a yam sham.

Another Mac user here! G5 Dual 2g :)

I noticed that myself. Made me chuckle, although I wrote it off to being literal.

And another (bows) Mac dude.

And I still think it was deliberate in the sense of having two meanings: the helpful one for those wondering about its shininess and a Firefly reference. Although I find the useage and placement of "All shiny" as a reference for the colour of the iPod enclosures a strange one, unless you're an FF fan. Were I writing that description, I would have used "shiny" as an adjective in front of the word colour, as in: ". . . one of five shiny colors" instead of ". . . in one of five trend-setting colors: silver, gold, green, pink or blue. (All shiny.)"

Didn't the phrase "Shiny" first show up in "The Tick" cartoon, because the Tick really really like shiny things.

shiny :)

here's a quote from the tick on shiny things:
"Sorry I haven't been around much. I'm easily distracted by shiny objects."

and from there on, the world was shiny. ;)
