Welcome! But a word of warning; this show may spoil you on all other shows and will likely cause you to come down with FLD.

WOOHOOO! That was my table you stopped at! Glad to know we recruited another fan. If you get the chance, watch the movie, "Serenity" on the big screen in June for the charity screenings. It's great to see it with a whole crowd of Browncoats.

I have just become addicted to firefly and serenity. I found the movie summer 2007 and thought it seemed like a good movie. Boy was I wrong. It was GREAT!!! I kept thinking I hope they make a second one. Now fast forward to 2 weeks ago, I'm at work talking with a co-worker about this movie called serenity that I can't stop watching and she replies off the cuff that there is a whole series out on DVD. I couldn't wait to get home and get on Amazon to buy it. Long story short I have now watched every episode at least 5 times and can't get enough. I have purchased everything from amazon that is available. I have never joined sites like this on-line but I needed to go somewhere. Thanks for hearing me ramble on. I think it's caused by the Firefly addiction!!

Welcome Home, 2by2 (#30762) and scarecrow1
(#30814)!
We just keep on getting more crew aboard this
shiny ship.
I've brought fresh strawberries and Mudder's
Milk -- our usual newbie treat -- and after
you stash your stuff in the cargo bay you're
invited up to the galley to question the
buffet. Shimmerwine fountain about to be
filled, cheese heating up, and a good supply
of ice-planets in the cooler, bottom shelf.

Please do not step on ShipsCat or into her
dish.

Spread the FF love wherever and whenever you can.

Hi scarecrow1.
If you were at Norwescon31 in Seattle, I too was there as well. Welcome to the world of Firefly and Serenity, from the So.Cal. Browncoats.

I had a few props from Firefly and Serenity, along with photos from my visit to the Serenity set. Maybe you had a chance to see them at the convention? If not, maybe next year [if I attend, depending on my schedule] :)

Below is a picture of some props.

Howdy Scarecrow1 and 2by2Gingerblue,
Welcome to the boat. Yet another 2 new browncoats headed for FLD. That’s a Firefly addiction disorder but hey, it’s a good one. Glad that you two have found us and are ready to spread the word of FF/Serenity. Grab some mudders milk out of the galley and here are a couple of virtual browncoats for ya if’n you hadn’t been given any already. Enjoy the forum and the crazy folk ( we’re family here) all about. We are glad you made it to the verse.

Howdy, Target last week had the Firefly dvd box set for 25 dollars. Renting may be expensive. Most browncoats seen the show 10 times.

Hi there!
I hope you guys all got shiny lives ;-)

I'm from Germany and I just finished seeing FF and the Serenity movie for the 3rd time now. It's just great! I'm so sorry that there is only one season. I love the chars, the setting and all the other cool stuff.

Here are still many people in Germany how still don't know Firefly and Serenity and it's hard to convince them that it's a extraordinary tv show.

First heard from FF by game testers from a known pc games testing magazine ("currently watching Firefly"). So I googled and read about it and bought the tv show from amazon...

Greetings from Germany

And I don't think that loving Firefly means that you love Buffy any less, they are both rich full worlds full of great characters I love.

And I'm pretty sure 'Dollhouse' will be another one!

I would love to do that, but they are a little stubborn here, don't think that'll work ;-)

I always know the wrong people who don't get enthusiastic about something like that...same goes with BattleStar Galactica :-(

I've always found that drugging my friends and tying them to the sofa while my "Firefly" DVD is playing works well.
Although---come to think of it...they don't come around much anymore...heh, must be off watching their own DVD's...yeah, that's it.

It's really bad if you're becoming a great fan of a us tv show and are not american...we probably never get the chance to see stars of the series or go to conventions. In fact if there are special shows or something like that it is likely that they may never be showed in Germany because "there are too few people who would see it". As far as I know FF never came on german TV. But at least we got a very good DVD Edition with good, famous voice actors...(I also watched the DVDs in english, but it's quite good in german)

Your post is a hoot! Let's see...you watched 14 episodes 5 times each in 14 days, which equates to 5 episodes a day. That is fantastic! That's like a total immersion into the 'verse. Oh yeah, you got it, got it bad.

It's funny how quickly FLD hits!! I'm kinda glad I Didn't catch it back in 2002 when the series was on the air. I would not have made it all these years. I am looking forward to chatting with everyone here.

Fortunately, you are fairly close to other places with Serenity events, like I see London conventions a bunch. You're likely closer to them than some of us are to events like L.A./Hollywood conventions.

RTL has had the rights to show FF on German television for YEARS, but apparently they don't plan on doing so.
I strongly oppose your oppinion that FF is "quite good in German". In fact, it has the worst translation of any show I ever saw. I cringed almost through the whole thing - almost all of the dialogue is just translated in a way that the practical meaning is preserved while the wit (Joss's trademark!) is totally neglected, and sometimes even the very point is missing. The translation is TERRIBLE. Plus Mal is voiced by the same actor who does Spike on Buffy. Watching my favorite series in German really, really pissed me off.
Buffy and Angel share the same fate, but they really screwed up big time with FF.
As for "we never get to see the stars"... I had the borrowed DVD set on my shelf for MONTHS before I finally decided to watch it, got instantly hooked and then found out that a few WEEKS before that, Joss, Nathan and - sigh - Summer had been attending the German premiere of Serenity RIGHT HERE IN HAMBURG. As the German saying goes, I could have bitten myself in the ass ("I regretted my own stupidity" for all you non-Krauts. ) when I realized I could have been there had I watched the series a bit earlier.

Oh, and WELCOME, newbies! Don't worry, you'll feel right at home here.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Welcome to the site Scarecrow. Glad to have you here posting with us.

Keep watching the discs. The show is the best sci fi show I have ever seen and is why I felt compelled to sign up here years ago.

Be sure to share it with friends.

RTL don't know what they got here

At the moment I live in Göttingen (Niedersachsen = Lower Saxony), but will be relocating to another town. I'm looking for a job. Job applications are on the move :-).
