Actually, Nathan came up with the "Faster would be better" line. Though, he's still a better writer than what Harrison had.

It is actually Nathan Fillion's Mal line.

Joss turned to Nathan and said I need a Mal line here. And Nathan said "Faster! Faster would be better!"

Joss said something along the lines why did he slave over the script for months on end when Nathan could do that.

The line Nathan made up on the spot echoes back to Firefly: Episode Safe when Mal said "Faster would be better than slow."

Once again , Phyrelight is inspiration !

Yeah , I totally knew it was Nathan's improv that got us that line...And , which totally fit Mal's character !

But , I was curious to see how long it would be before someone jumped into that TRAP!

Might've known , not long ! And I'm not surprised it was you who called my bluff !

'Cause I always loved that signature of yours , and its origins !

Our side DOES have the better writers ! Apparently , Nate Fillion is a better writer than George Lucas , 'cause even when our Captain improvs an interview or a panel , he never fails to bring the funny !

The last several Star Wars prequels sorta seemed humourless , for the most part...

Harrison Ford famously said of the original Star Wars script , " George can write this sh!+ , but no one can read this sh!+ ! "

Something else I find interesting is that one of the best lines from Star Wars was also an improv. When Han Solo is supposed to be frozen in carbonite, Leia says "I love you." Han's line was "I love you too," but it just wasn't working. So it went something like "Say something Han would say," and out came "I know."

Harrison Ford also improved the scene for Indiana Jones when the guy jumped out with a sword. The script called for a sword fight. Harrison Ford just pulled his gun out and pulled the trigger.

There are an awful lot of similarities between Harrison Ford and Nathan Fillion, but you're certainly right. Nathan Fillion is busy being the next Nathan Fillion.
