i was just flipping through the channels and i came upon a channel showing saving private ryan... and lo and behold, there was our captain!

he plays the "wrong" ryan... ive seen that film countless times, but ive never noticed that it was him!

must have been because his face gets kinda distorted with anguish when he hears about his brothers...

oh well... it was news to me, so it might be for someone else too...

By the way, if you guys get a chance rent "Waitress" its a good movie and Nathan is excellent in it.

i also saw simon pegg (shaun of the dead, hot fuzz and run fatboy, run) in band of brothers... he was one of the MP's in england...

I think Nathan mentioned once at a con that Spielberg gave him the direction to "cry like a girl" in that scene. I think he did a really good job to hold the screen for a whole 2 mintues.

Also, another movie that he doesn't have the lead in but is good in is "Outing Riley". He plays the youngest and wildest of 4 brothers. And his reaction when one of his brothers comes out as gay is really good.

Then there is the forgetable, except for Nathan, "Waters Edge".

And lastly, "Dracula 2000" as a priest.

Be sure to watch the DVD extra where Nathan tours the haunted mental asylum where the movie was filmed.

Nathan was on Desperate Housewives this season. Episodes can be viewed online at http://abc.com I'm hoping when the DVD comes out we get some Nathan extras. The SLiTHER dvd was packed with extras...Nathan in almost every one. The Lost Season 3 DVD had no Nathan extras...just the one episode that reminded us of Our Mrs. Reynolds.

Oh, yes, I think I remember that one too...ahem, yes I remember the tattoo too.

Then there's 3 whole season of Nathan on "Two Guys and a Girl". He played Traylor Howard's (now in Monk)blue collar boyfriend and eventual husband. Very funny show and Nathan was awesome.

He also had a juicy affair with Dana Delaney on the short lived "Pasadena". You can see it once and while on cable.

The extras on White Noise 2 are really good, especially when Nathan goes on a tour of the mental institution where they were shooting. Just one word....lobotomies!

I convinced a few fencesitters to go see Serenity in the theatre using the line "It stars the guy that played Private Ryan..." :wink:
