Vump and a nom for Red Dwarf. I too refuse to travel by air for Customer Service purposes. I am not against security or safety but ever since 9/11 I cannot enter a gate without being subjugated to their "Random Search," where they have me take off my shoes and do all that extra stuff, because I am white. I say let all those people who depend on the airline industry die before I'll be a customer again. If for some reason I need to travel to Europe for anything other than emergency trip because of family there I will try to book a trip via ship.

Taking a slow boat to China vomp!
Can totally relate to the dislike of the security measures. I've cut my traveling down considerably because of the hassle. Refusing to take off my shoes and walk where people with Athlete's foot and toenail fungus have been walking tends to get me pulled aside. Can't think why...

(Reposted from previous thread:)

Mornin' stats VOMP!

Based on RL's announcement that he will end the Polls when the combined total votes between the Top 40 and the Nominations reaches 10 million (but no later than January 2, 2009), 75.49 (77.93) days remain to vote, based on current rates of voting (as with everything else in this Poll, this time will fluctuate).

We don't get our numbers back up, instead of flyin' high, we'll be on the drift without a compression coil.

Our ultimate goal, 750,000 votes, is 68,033 (68,933) votes, and 75.59 (84.58) days away! We're still a tad behind our target date ! Let's get those daily totals back up!

http://richlabonte.net/tvvote

http://www.richlabonte.net/tvvote

http://richlabonte.net/tvvote/index.html

ALL three links work for voting, so if you have trouble, you can try an alternate address instead.

You can vote for more as many Top 40 shows as you like, once every hour. You can only nominate one show per hour, at:

http://richlabonte.net/tvvote/nominations.html

Download the FlyVote voting timer, a NEW version of the program. It'll remind you when it's time to vote, each hour: http://usbmicro.com/misc

Votes are counted per network IP, so, don't go to the library or your office and vote hourly on each computer on the subnet, or all votes will be thrown out; multiple votes on rotating IPs will likewise be rejected.

Top two shows as of this morning:

(Statistics in parentheses are previous day's stats, for comparison purposes)

Total votes Firefly: 691,967 (681,067)

Yesterday, Browncoats voted 900 (815) times, 85 more than the previous day. Better, but short of what we want to see, 1,000+/day.

Total votes Xena: 528,039 (527,510)

Yesterday, Xenites voted 529 (440) times, 89 more than the previous day.

(Xenites voted 371 (375) times fewer than Browncoats, yesterday.)

Firefly is 153,928 (153,557) votes ahead of Xena, more than the vote total of #21 show Trapper John, M.D. 147,540. That puts us at 21,072 (21,443) votes away from a 175,000 vote lead, about 56.8 (57.18) days, based on current voting.

We'll get our next banner, for 685,000 votes, in another 3,033 (3,933) votes, and 3.37 (4.83) days!

7,437,854 (7,426,148) Top 40 votes have been counted as of 06/16/08. Yesterday, 11,706 (11,633) votes were cast. Our share of the voting pie remains at 9%.

In other TV Vote news (shows whose voters also support Firefly and the Whedonverse, so, let's return the favor, shiny? We accomplish more together than we would separately! Let's continue to support our friends! Browncoats never leave a friend behind!):

#5 show Battlestar Galactica got 515 (518) votes, and, is currently receiving enough votes to overtake #4 show, Gunsmoke, which got 229 (249) votes, yesterday, in 60.01 (64.86) days.

#6 show Buffy the Vampire Slayer got 521 (492) votes, yesterday, not receiving enough votes to pass BSG by the end of the Poll.

#11 show Angel got 464 (444) votes, yesterday, receiving enough votes to pass #10 show Combat!, which received 350 (365) votes, in 7.39 (12.05) days.

Many thanks for your support! Let's vote Angel past Combat!

#15 show Babylon 5 got 385 (341) votes, yesterday, and, is on track to pass #14 show Stargate SG-1, which got 271 (270) votes, in 4.19 (8.34) days.

The Babylonians could still use some help, as well, folks!

#27 show Dark Shadows got 329 (336) votes, yesterday, receiving enough votes to to pass #26 show Star Trek: The Next Generation, which got 224 (220) votes, in 15.95 (15.34) days.

Thanks for giving Dark Shadows your ongoing support!

#37 show Blood Ties got 515 (519) votes, yesterday, and is on track to pass #36 show Scarecrow and Mrs King, which got 182 (187) votes, in 5.51 (6.53) days.

#43 show (#3 in the Nominations) Moonlight got 717 (608) votes, yesterday, and is on track to pass #42 show Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, which got 65 (44) votes, yesterday, in 16.96 (20.76) days.

Looking ahead, Moonlight will pass (current) #38 show, Queer as Folk, which got 79 (98) votes, yesterday, in 52.48 (66.9) days, to enter the Top 40!

Thanks, again, for your time, and, for your support of these great shows!

Mornin' stats BOMP!

Based on RL's announcement that he will end the Polls when the combined total votes between the Top 40 and the Nominations reaches 10 million (but no later than January 2, 2009), 64.93 (75.49) days remain to vote, based on current rates of voting (as with everything else in this Poll, this time will fluctuate).

We don't get our numbers back up, instead of flyin' high, we'll be on the drift without a compression coil.

Our ultimate goal, 750,000 votes, is 66,986 (68,033) votes, and 63.98 (75.59) days away! We're back on track for our target date, but we need to maintain a daily average of 1,032 votes! Let's keep those daily totals up!

Total votes Firefly: 683,014 (691,967)

Yesterday, Browncoats voted 1,047 (900) times, 147 more than the previous day. Shiny as Kaylee's smile!

Total votes Xena: 528,530 (528,039)

Yesterday, Xenites voted 491 (529) times, 38 fewer than the previous day.

(Xenites voted 556 (371) times fewer than Browncoats, yesterday.)

Firefly is 154,484 (153,928) votes ahead of Xena, more than the vote total of #21 show Trapper John, M.D. 147,767. That puts us at 20,516 (21,072) votes away from a 175,000 vote lead, about 36.9 (56.8) days, based on current voting.

We'll get our next banner, for 685,000 votes, in another 1,986 (3,033) votes, and 1.9 (3.37) days!

7,451,399 (7,437,854) Top 40 votes have been counted as of 06/17/08. Yesterday, 13,545 (11,706) votes were cast. Our share of the voting pie remains at 9%.

In other TV Vote news (shows whose voters also support Firefly and the Whedonverse, so, let's return the favor, shiny? We accomplish more together than we would separately! Let's continue to support our friends! Browncoats never leave a friend behind!):

#5 show Battlestar Galactica got 479 (515) votes, and, is currently receiving enough votes to overtake #4 show, Gunsmoke, which got 291 (229) votes, yesterday, in 90.29 (60.01) days.

#6 show Buffy the Vampire Slayer got 689 (521) votes, yesterday, not receiving enough votes to pass BSG by the end of the Poll.

#11 show Angel got 596 (464) votes, yesterday, receiving enough votes to pass #10 show Combat!, which received 389 (350) votes, in 3.07 (7.39) days.

Many thanks for your support! Let's vote Angel past Combat!

#15 show Babylon 5 got 393 (385) votes, yesterday, and, is on track to pass #14 show Stargate SG-1, which got 332 (271) votes, in 6.32 (4.19) days.

The Babylonians could still use some help, as well, folks!

#27 show Dark Shadows got 326 (329) votes, yesterday, receiving enough votes to to pass #26 show Star Trek: The Next Generation, which got 255 (224) votes, in 22.59 (15.95) days.

Dark Shadows still needs your ongoing support!

#37 show Blood Ties got 706 (515) votes, yesterday, and is on track to pass #36 show Scarecrow and Mrs King, which got 213 (182) votes, in 2.72 (5.51) days.

#43 show (#3 in the Nominations) Moonlight got 834 (717) votes, yesterday, and is on track to pass #42 show Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, which got 65 (65) votes, yesterday, in 13.38 (16.96) days.

Looking ahead, Moonlight will pass (current) #38 show, Queer as Folk, which got 56 (79) votes, yesterday, in 42.16(52.48) days, to enter the Top 40!

Thanks, again, for your time, and, for your support of these great shows!
