What a great actor. He will be missed. Hammond was always one of my favorite characters on SG-1 and I've always felt Don improved any show by simply being on it. My condolences to his family and friends, and to my fellow fans.

Rest in Peace, Hammond of Texas.

Chevron Eight is locked. Godspeed, General.

A one-of-a-kind actor for a one-of-a-kind character. He will be missed.

I'm just... lost for words. Don S. Davis was an icon. I always felt he was one of the best actors on Stargate, and the show was never the same without him. Goodbye, Don. You'll be missed.

We sniff the air, we don't kiss the dirt.

They should dedicate the upcoming Stargate movie to him.

This is truly heartbreaking. I've loved the guy in everything I've seen him in: As Scully's dad, Gen. Hammond (natch)...
But I really loved his small role as the MTAC Control Officer in the NCIS episode "Chained".
Can't find a YouTube clip of it, so I'll have to try to remember...
It was when McGee had to brief the Deputy Secretary of State in the MTAC, because Gibbs was busy trying to find Tony. It was his first time, and the woman was not gentle.
Don's character seemed a bit gruff at first, and was mostly just standing off by the console with a headset on, watching McGee with a critical eye as McGee got more and more flustered.
For the next briefing, Gibbs had given McGee some advice over the phone, but McGee was keeping it in his back pocket. He seemed to have improved enough that Don had a somewhat impressed look on his face as he looked from McGee to the Big Screen several times.
Finally, McGee had had enough, and he unleashed the words Gibbs had suggested: "Stick it!!"
Like a proud papa, Don led the room in a big round of applause.

RIP.

Great man to portray a General. He had a real commanding presence. My heart goes out to his friends and family.
