I suggest a new plan.

Numbers

Numbers is what these people care about...forget about how amazing the show is, forget about how many fans it STILL collects after its dismissal... What these people want is numbers..

So lets come up with numbers they can't ignore..

Does anyone know the number of members on this site? What about all the sites?

can we deliver a number of people, just on the internet alone, that are fans?

What other numbers can we think of?

I suggest we get some of our best numbers together and conduct an email barrage..something they cannot ignore.

With StarWars coming out next year Fox and other studios will be looking for a scifi alternative...lets show them what we can still do..remind them of the return of Star Trek (not a fan but its return is a greate example for us)

I watched Serenity again last night and Mal's words kept ringing in my ear..

"You hold till i get back."

Im not giving in...so lets get some numbers

Well you got half way to the conclusion. These are numbers people we're dealing with. You're just missing the part where we don't have good numbers. Our fanbase is still relatively small and we don't bring in the big money at the box office. The best we do is sell a fair amount of DVDs. Reality is not our friend.

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

I agree with both Zeek and Bringitback. Maybe I'm schizophrenic.

The Firefly fanbase does continue to grow, and yet we are small compared to Star Wars and Trek and a few others. What we are is passionate about our show, and willing to spend time and money in an effort to get more of the verse.

It would take a lot of research to find out just how many Browncoats there are. On this site alone there are over 33,000 registered users. One of the more recent recruits, WendyPops is #33,290, but that does not mean all of them are active here, and I am sure quite a few of those are duplicate accounts created when someone forgot their username and/or password.

There are also quite a few of us who are also active on other forums, so there is more duplication to confuse things. I'm not saying it is something not worth attempting, just that it might never be definitive.

Best thing to do is to post on as many varied forums as possible and seek out other fans and encourage them to write and email both FOX and Universal and let them know we want more.
