GRIZWALD

They take digs at Firefly and the fandom about once a week, but this, I thought, was wonderful.

It’s a Thursday night. It’s midnight. You’re the only one in the neighborhood because of the community cruise. They invited you, but you just aren’t a fan of boats. Besides, it’s sort of nice having all this land to yourself. Quiet. Peaceful.

But you still have to work the next day, so you’re getting ready for bed. The television’s on. And just as you pull on your “Can’t Stop The Signal” jammies you hear a familiar voice from the speakers. It’s Joss Whedon, and he’s got a very special, very secret, totally final surprise episode of Firefly that reveals everything and answers ever question you’ve ever had, once and for all. And he’s going to show it in HD. Right now. Only once. It will never air again. And that’s when you hear the quiet popping noise as your television dies.

If you had a Pinnacle PCTV High Definition PCI Tuner Card, this wouldn’t be an issue. You’d run to that computer with at least a Pentium 4 2.2 GHz (Pentium 4 2.8 GHz recommended for Hi-Def) and about 512 MB of RAM and an open PCI 2.3 slot. Right away you’d be getting NTSC, ATSC and ClearQAM through the included antenna or your pre-existing cable box. You’d even be recording that signal in the file format of your choice with VideoSpin editing software. You’d be busy learning all about who those blue hand guys really were, and not wasting time in a jail cell for breaking into your neighbor’s house to watch TV. And remember, there aren’t any torrents in prison!

Now, we admit, the odds of this actually happening are pretty slim, but just think about it seriously for a second. Can you really be sure it isn’t possible? Can you really afford to take the risk? Imagine if you just said “I’ll download it tomorrow” and went to bed. What if you work up the next morning and discovered it was a test, a test by the studios to see if they were going to bring back the series, and the ratings had been short… BY JUST ONE VIEWER!!!

Would you be able to forgive yourself? So, please, for your own peace of mind, it’s best that all you Browncoats immediately buy the Pinnacle PCTV High Definition PCI Tuner Card and have it on Hi-Def Standby… just in case.

First of all if my tv died at that very instant ( a one time showing of the very last un-aired tv episode of FF) I’d go get my gun and shoot the bastard!!

Secondly there’d have to be someone on God’s Green Earth ( that is) that would record a copy. What, space aliens are gonna take the show out to never-never land? I’d get me a copy, even if I had to build me a space craft, go out into the black and find the little antenna, ant-faced critters. But we well know there ain’t no space aliens in the Joss verse so that wouldn’t have to be done.

I’d probably go out and find Joss himself ( can’t tell me he wouldn’t have a copy) and threaten to go get Vera if he wouldn’t part with a copy. The bible is a little fuzzy on kneecaps…..lol

But then really I’d probably just attain a copy from Mrs. Griz. I know that she’d have one. Course that purple bellied tv set of mine would be condemned to the “Special Hell” and upon repair be forced to play reruns of Teletubbies forever.

Flying on duct tape and a damaged registry.

The first time I saw woot.com take a dig at Firefly, the Browncoats took over the forum. It was shiny.
