I'm glad it's doing well.

We're loving Fringe at our house.

Yeah, Walter is such a vital character--with him around, the show is prevented from taking its own premise too seriously.

Well I'm glad it's doing well - but I must admit that I'm a tad concerned there is little conflict or threat to the gang. Also if that loony doc turns out to be an expert in every field of fringe science it's going to irritate me.

However I'm happy to give it plenty of time. I't beautifully shot and at times feels like a film. Quite incredible. Bonus points for Pacey not obsessing over some girl called Joey. :P

This is going to be a show you have to stay with. A lot of important things happened this week that will bring twists into the series as it continues. So I have to remember to set up my recorder if I am not going to be home. Of course there is always Summer reruns.

Haven't they already established that the "Pattern" is based on Walter's previous work?
His old partner founded Massive Dynamics and is using their old work to make scientific breakthroughs.
So it would stand to reason that every time they discover some heinous new scientific experiment, it would be based on something Walter has already done. He may not have conceived of the modern-day application but he's familiar with all the theories.

I hate watching it, because it's so good, I just KNOW it'll get the hook before its time.

It's good news indeed because it's the only scripted TV show I watch other than Sarah Connor Chronicles. I hope both stay on air for a few years.

Yes they did. Which is fine but i'm hoping that Fringe science theories developed further than just Bell and Walter. Especially as Walter's incarceration was 17 years ago.

It's a minor thing.

Well, fringe science (like real science) is underlied by certain fundamental principles (which is what I've been telling people for years). I'd imagine that when Walter encounters somehing he isn't directly familiar with, he'd be able to intuit everything he needs fairly quickly.

He's a scientist, not just a walking database.

I must've been out of the room when you were telling people that... :D

Yes I reckon that's what they're going to do to. I guess I was hoping for something else in this respect. Having a quirky slightly loony doc who can suddenly turn on the smarts and be a 'know it all' is not sitting well with me... But maybe I'm being too particular about that aspect of the show.

Otherwise like I said - I'm liking it.

I'm really getting into this show, love the characters (especially Walter) and love the overall tone of the series. And it's surprisingly funny.

BTW you can catch full episodes on Hulu.com
