I have to say I'm more hooked this year than last year and Adam is just great. I may be a little biased but I think he's just the best part of that show.

Did anyone watch Monday? When the efficiency expert was asking about the chain of command? Wouldn't it have been great if they would have had Casey saying, "Yeah, that's the chain I beat you with until you know who's in rutting command." That would have been great!!!

Yep! I still watch it.
I love that show.
And, yeah, I was hoping for something about the "chain of command," too, but Casey wasn't in that line. Bah. Next time, eh? ^^

Chuck is an amazing show. I loved mondays episode. Breaking into Atari was pretty funny. But yeah Adam Baldwin is the best part. But unfortunately I usually tape it because I like to watch Sarah Connor in HD

We watch it RELIGIOUSLY.

And I have to say, I've never been an over-the-top Adam Baldwin fan. But he looked especially scrumptious this past Monday. Not sure what it was, but.....YUM!

This week's episode was perfect, if only for the 80s music shout-out.

Yep I still watch. It's good lighthearted fun. Plus it has eyecandy.

I actually liked that they took care of one of my gripes that chuck would get outdated and become more and more useless.

Chuck is an incredible show and if I can’t get a laugh out of watching Adam Baldwin as Jayne, watching AB as NSA agent Casey is the next best thing. Adam really rocks as that character, but then all of the Chuck actors are great. I never miss it unless I’m working that night, which has me thinking, why do networks put so much worth in tv viewership? I mean, I can’t always see some of my favorite television programs due to my shifting work schedule but then I do catch the episodes I miss on-line.

JMO but a new FIREFLY web-series would have an automatic built in fan base and would make a ton on web-money. I know I’d be there to watch every episode.

Chuck is the high point of TV this year. Terminator is OK I guess, I wouldn't watch if it weren't for Summer, but most of the awesome occurs in and around the Buy More.

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

Haven't missed an episode and usually watch them at least twice in the same week. Also got my son hooked via the first season dvds when he visited me a couple of weeks ago.

I love Chuck. And Sarah, Casey, Morgan, Anna, Big Mike, Ellie and Captain Awesome. Not so much Lester and Jeff, but there's still a great deal to like about this show. I usually watch it live (while also recording it), then watch TSCC off the dvr.

It's because the Networks' viewership model is older than Missile Command.

The Internet is still new and untested technology as far as they're concerned (which is a big part of what the Writers' Strike was about).

We're starting to see changes (with the shift toward product placement instead of advertisement, and add-supported online streaming), but there are some serious upheavals coming in the entertainment industry. The sad truth is that shows like Chuck, and TSCC, and even our beloved Firefly, only exist to sell add-space (which is where the money comes from). The internet makes it way too easy to see the show without the adds, which (as far as the Nets are concerned) makes the whole thing meaningless.

"Anyone still watching Chuck?"

Yes. I am. I'm taping Terminator for the special effects and watching Chuck live. Went to check on Terminator in a commercial and realized I was taping baseball...Rewind...Then Fringe was a re-run on Tuesday. Didn't care to watch a re-run of Fringe...

What a great response! I'm so glad people are still watching and the Buy More scenes are my favorite part. And Casey reminds me so much of Jayne, at least his love of firearms anyways.

just found it on Hulu- been watching an ep a day-- don't want to burn it all out.

Sadly, tho, I think Adam has been underused, at least in the eps I've seen, but not enough to keep me from watching. And it has got lots of funny stuff.

This is one of my favorite shows. It's so much fun. Adam as Casey is awesome. Jayne with brains!

I love the addition of character names from 80's movies.

In the episode "Chuck VS The Seduction" the woman he was supposed to seduce, was named Sasha Banicek. Played by Heart of Gold's Melinda Clarke. Linda Fiorentino played a character by the same name in the movie "Gotcha".

In the episode "Chuck VS The Cougars", the bomber designer was named Mark Ratner. A character from the movie "Fast TImes at Ridgemont High".

In the episode "Chuck VS Tom Sawyer, the new assistant manager is named Emmett Millbarge. Taken from the first name of Chevy Chase's character, and last name from Dan Aykroyd's character in the movie "Spies Like Us". This episode also had another nod to "Fast TImes at Ridgemont High, with Nerd Herd's Jeff in a very "Jeff" Spicoli like scene.

I'm sure there are movie names I've missed...... Anyone else catch a character name that sounded familiar?

I just found other cultural references in Chuck episodes.

In "Chuck VS The Cougars" the High School that Sarah's reunion is held at, is called James Buchanan High School. The name of the school the "Sweathogs" went to, in the series "Welcome Back Kotter"!

This Episode also played heavily on scenes from "Grosse Point Blank".

In "Chuck VS Tom Sawyer", the Missile Command "The End" screen shown at the end of Chuck's initial failure was the closing shot of "Fast Times at Ridgemont High"!

Also in this episode, the The global terrorist "Farrokh Bulsara" is named after Freddie Mercury's birthname.

In the first season episode "Chuck vs. the Helicopter", Chuck is viewing a series of photos when one triggers his recall of the secrets. He begins revealing apparently-unconnected secrets including "Oceanic Flight 815 was shot down by a surface-to-air...", the exact same flight number that crashed on the series "Lost".

I watch Chuck every week, and I also watch T:SCC and How I Met Your Mother as well. In fact, it never occurred to me, but Mondays at 7 CST has three shows with veteran Whedon actors on all at the same time. Adam on Chuck, Summer on T:SCC, and Allison Hannigan and now Neil Patrick Harris on How I Met Your Mother.

Another "Spies Like Us" reference.....

In the episode "Chuck VS The Marlin", The type of bug found in the Buy More is a "GLG-20", a reference to the movie Spies Like Us (1985). Chevy Chase and Dan Akroyd portrayed two bumbling government employees who are recruited by the CIA to serve as decoys and GLG-20 is the rank they receive upon graduating from "spy school".

I'd given some thought to movin' off the edge -- not an ideal location -- thinkin' a place in the middle.

And the board of directors of the networks are just as old. "Why, selling ad space was THE way when I was a mailboy and that's how it's gonna stay!"

As for Chuck, my family usually watches and records it, just in case we can't. 7pm is a blocked out time for us.

Great thread.

Love having the cultural references pointed out.

Somewhere (here?) saw a mention of Best Buy employees having to remember not to refer to BB as "Buy More" in front of brass or customers.

I'm looking forward to upcoming episodes, when we finally meet the "other" girl Brice Larkin stole from Chuck. His girlfriend at Stanford (played by Jordana Brewster). Looks like a fun, if potentially messy, story arc.

Yes the Jill and Sarah thing, or should I post it as the Jill vs. Sarah thing. It looks like it’s gonna be a quite nasty and fun fight.

I’m just now getting my wife to watch CHUCK season 1 and she was surprised that Bryce turned out to be somewhat of a good guy for not letting the powers that be recruit him in college.

I’m off of work this Monday so wouldn’t you know it the show doesn’t come on until next Monday. Thank goodness for my trusty computer. I don’t want to miss that one or two or three…..

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

I'm still watching and enjoying the show. Sucks it is on opposite Sarah Connor Chronicles. I watch Chuck on tv and then catch up on T:SCC on Hulu.
