The waffle thing happened in my past, I'm much better now. I get protein and vegetables most days. Though I'd give it all up for some decent donuts.

I love donuts, but they just aren't the same around here. Is it bad that I'm most looking forward to december not for the christmas holiday season, or even the change to go visit my dad's place, or even the trip into london... but the fact that while in london I'll be able to go to the krispy kreme store there and load up on delicious, nutritious donuts.

Krispy Kreme is okay, but real doughnuts come from smaller bakeries and such who have a more diverse selection of the evil little batards. My favorite come from a place simply called Jelly Donut in Reno. Not just jelly doughnuts, they also have a wide variety of cake doughnuts, Cinnamon rolls, muffins, breads, and all manner of nummy evilness for a body.

I don't know too many small bakeries around here sadly. The ones I do kinda suck. Most of the bakeries I see are part of one of the chains like Greggs or aulds or something... and they all have great cakes, no doubt about it, and they have good donuts, but they don't quite best the Krispy Kreme.

There seems to be a need for a doughnut hunt when we see you next.

Not to mention Doughnuts and beer really REALLY go well together.

First of all, it wasn't Kool-Aid that they drank. It was a grape punch mixture made from Fla-Vor-Aid, the less expensive British equivalent of Kool-Aid.

Second... I'm not entirely sure they were whack-a-doos. A number of them were forced into this and could not escape, with the more ardent fanatics using syringes filled with cyanide on those unwilling or unable to drink it. And for some of them... well, they just had so much faith, it killed them; they believed with every fibre of their being, and they were happy. You really, truly cannot understand the power of that sort of situation and lifestyle until you live it yourself. ((shrug)) Guess I have a problem with calling their choice "wrong"...

The moral of the story?

If it smells like almond, don't drink it.

ooh good moral HK:) But sadly only a certain percentage of the population (60%) can actually smell cyanide... so the rest of us are just SOL

hmmm I see a trip to the Jelly doughnut in my future. NV

Sour cream donuts! I musssst have onnnnne! Aaaa!

Damn you all for making me want to leave my offspring unguarded and make a run to the grocery store in under six minutes before they close so that I might have whatever's left from today's last batch!! It cannot happen (sob).

Unless someone has a tardis they're not using and can pop round to Green Hills or possibly P&C for me?

Oh well. If I'm lucky the desire will wear off by breakfast time and I'll be able to go to work and put it off another day and forget them entirely for another week/month/whatever.

GEE

Good morning all,

you have reminded me about one of the wonderful things about living where I do, namely that I live a minutes walk from a bakery, mostly all fairly standard but their samosas are amazing and so now I'm hungry already.

off to a team meeting so catch you all in a bit.
