3. The original Amazing Spiderman stories from at least issues 1-50(find the reprints in Marvel Tales). Freaking awesome stuff. Mesmerizing reads practically every one.

2. Conan the Barbarian issues 1-275. That's right. Nearly the entire run from Bronze age to the end was enjoyable fantasy at it's best. Emphasis on the first 120 issues. Dark Horse comics has 14 volumes of the reprints out in trade format. Great reads.

1. The Dark Knight. I never heard of Frank Miller until 1986 when my brother told me The Dark Knight was hot, and I should pick it up. I was twelve, and fascinated by this awesome story of Batman.
Takes place in the future, and it's just as twisted, as it is charming. Batman fights Superman in the final issue.

1. "The Dark Phoenix Saga" from X-men. One of the best uses of the absolute power corrupts absolutely theme.

2. "Season of Mists" from Sandman. Though I could rightly include the entire run this is my favorite story from the series.
