I know at least a few of y'all are keepin up with TSCC. Honestly, I loved this season right up till the end (The second to last episode - Alpine fields, i think its called- was one of the best, IMO) but I didn't really like the whole UFO idea. Your thoughts on the final episode? Is Riley dead (doubt it), whats the deal with Sarah (where will she be at the beginning of the next season), etc etc etc.

It was a bit of a letdown, but I think that's only because there were some really strong episodes before this one and it was designed to leave you on the edge.

My brother and I both celebrated when Riley "died." Let's hope she stays dead, LOL. I just want to see the John/Cameron relationship explored more without some emo girl standing in the way.

couldn't agree with you more bout Riley. Also, it was weird that Derek was just GONE the whole episode... hopefully he gets more screen time.

I've really been lovin' the show over the last few months due to Summer's emergence as the star of the show. Also all the various plot lines and new characters give one the impression that a lot lay ahead. I found the Fall finale a bit disappointing for many reasons, but I will certainly tune in February on Friday nights to see how it all ties together.

What was Riley's purpose again?....to keep John away from Cameron? Why? Is that girl, Derek's girlfriend, going to try to kill Cameron? Why?

What's with the new UFO angle? Came out of nowhere, and so far makes no sense to me. What's in that warehouse that Sarah discovered from the murdered incognito scientist? What is going on with Shirley Manson? Where's her daughter? The series sure has a lot to explain.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

I won't be unhappy if Riley does die, but I doubt they will kill her off. I still don't understand what Derek's girlfriend's angle is. Why did she bring Riley back? Why does she want to keep John away from Cameron? Wouldn't it be easier to just destroy Cameron if she is some sort of threat?

The UFO thing was just out there to me and just didn't seem to fit with the rest of the show. Is the "UFO" Sarah saw in the last scene supposed to be some sort of prototype HK?

Is that supposed to be Kyle we saw in the scenes from the next episode?

HK prototype? I like that theory. Is that what was inside the secret warehouse? Maybe another site location for Shirley Manson's corporation? AI for HK's? Or just maybe Skynet IS an alien entity. An alien that can be a symbiot with machines. Maybe the whole J Day thing is a first strike and mopping-up operation for the machines, with a pending alien occupation after the machines have secured the planet?

god i hope not... i'm not a fan of the alien angle. I think that Derek's gf is pissed b/c in the future, John relies way too much on Cameron (according to her). She probably thinks that Cameron is some sort of spy or double agent, secretly working for the machines and manipulating him (although if she were working for the machines, she could just kill him)... maybe she's just uncomfortable with John being so close to a machine, relying on Cameron so much (in the future and the present), etc. I think that's her angle.
I agree that the UFO plot didn't fit in with the rest of the show - the whole "obsession with the 3 dots" plot has gotten the show way off track... still, I think it's got some good places that it can go (the show, not the UFO plot) if the writers make the right decisions.

Good question, when she said "keep John away from that girl", was she talking about Cameron or maybe somone else?

Maybe too many plot lines. Saw this happen to Twin Peeks. There were so many angles you had to keep notes to remeber who was part of what. They should resolve some of them before it gets to tangled.

ok, to the original poster, this is NOT the final ep of the season or series, just the mid-season break. all the cool (and not so cool) shows are doing it this week.(Terminator, Heroes, Chuck, Life, ETC...ok so my household is a liitle NBC centric...)
2) I seriously doubt they are playing the alien angle straight out. probably some kind of prototype that skynet sent something/someone back to build.
(here's the designs, now go back there and make what you can, so's we can hit the ground running kinda deal) or a legit DARPA or otherwise black booked gov't research project that happend to stumble on a bits & pieces of a t-XXX at some point
like cyberdyne and the forearm, or that episode of ST Voyager where they came back to the late 90's ad discovered that our whole tech revoultion of the last couple decades was based upon a crashed 29th century time pod some dude had found and reverse engineered...

as for the riley angle, if i'm remember ing the plot lines right, there were a few who in the future thought that john was relying too heavily on Metal, and far far far too much on cameron in particular. so they brought back a cute girl of about the right age to weasel her way in there and keep john from getting too close to cameron.

That is what I took away from the episode. I think the thing Sarah saw might be some sort of drone or prototype HK that either Shirley Manson's character is having developed. I doubt it's military because the security at that place was non-existant.

Dear and fluffy Lord I hope not! That would just be too out there and so not in keeping with the Terminator story.

I'm not a fan of it either. If they go that route I will most likely stop watching.

I agree. I think she is so blinded by hate for the machines she is loathe to see their leader relying on one for protection, help, etc. I wonder if this is just something she is doing on her own or if there are others in the future trying to break John away from Cameron.

Yeah, the UFO angle just seemed way off base to me. Maybe if they tie it into HK sightings or something it might get it a bit more back on track. Seems there has to have been a better way of getting from point A to point B.

I am hoping they wrap up the 3 dot thing soon. It has been going for a bit too long now in my opinion.

There won't be an alien angle to TSCC, but there may be a UFO (Unidentified Flying Object) angle. Personally, I think it's just a hullucination. Sarah's been pretty nutty since Cromartie died. I think she's going to hullucinate about Kyle Reese for a while and then get up and drive off in her jeep.

Anything else is too preposterous to consider.

I liked the "fall season finale" (seriously, just call it a Christmas Break Cliff Hanger, lol), but it definitely wasn't one of my favorite episodes this season. It did its job of making me want to tune in when the show comes back in Feburary, but then I was going to tune in anyway!

I don't think the UFO plot line has anything to do with aliens, or actual UFOs. Sarah at one point asks if the drones could be military tech, and the guy she's talking to responds that the government doesn't have anything that advanced. Having done some R&D work for the DoD in the past myself, and then read in the press about how the "state of the art" in that field isn't very advanced, I know from personal experience that the government often has things, especially in the R&D phase, that are much more advanced than the stuff they actually talk about or allow to be photographed.

I also know that they tend to have each contracting group working on one specific angle of the research or development, and other groups working on other aspects, without anyone knowing about the other -- much like "Abraham" described. Usually this is done to keep potential government secrets from getting out before they're even realized, but a couple of times when I've heard about other DoD funded R&D, I've been a little shocked to think about how the DoD could combine my project and their project. So I do think sometimes someone high up at the DoD is thinking about ways to put all these things together, but then farms out all of the individual parts so that no one will catch on. (For anyone who has seen the movie Real Genius -- "All you would need is a giant spinning mirror!")

Anyway, what I took away from the episode is that the US government, in the show, has advanced the science of robotics enough that they may have working autonomous flying drones, at least in the research phase. Given that Judgement Day is suppose to be coming up fairly soon in the show (2011 I think?), they may be laying the groundwork for Skynet being far enough along already that they'll be able to make the 2011 deadline.

As far as Riley, I don't think we've seen the last of her, more's the pity. I wouldn't be surprised if this changes her and John's relationship, though I don't know if it'll be for the better or the worse. I liked the scene with Riley and Jesse, but hopefully this subplot is nearing its end. I want to see more of John and Cameron, even if there's conflict between them, or conflict within John regarding his feelings. None of the shows I watch have any good "ships" right now (you listening Heroes??), and I'm really craving that tension.

i need to re watch that episode...

was anyone able to tell which direction she had sliced her wrists?

was the across the arm "cry for attention"

or the proper way to off ones self, down the arm following a vein?

or did we not get to really see the wrists???
