I choose Frak.

Yup, I'm gonna go with Frak.

A sentence I used today:

Frak!!! There's no Gorram way I'm sholveling all that Ruttin Snow.
Neighbor to me:
"You can use my snowblower"
and I said SHINY!

so what do you choose?

Fierfek. It's Huttese for "poison."

From Karen Traviss' Republic Commando novels. Along with shab (adjective: shabla), osik, and di'kut (adj: di'kutla).

I actually use Gorram quite a bit.
Frak, not so much. Mainly because I don't have a problem saying the actual "F"-word at all.

So, what the fuck does "GINO" mean?

See?

My personal favorite is Gorram and all variations thereof. I'm also a Ghost Hunters fan though, so I picked up "What the fetch?!" real quick.

"Yeah, that's my fault actually. I was rebuilding the TARDIS and forgot to put the shields back up. Your TARDIS and my TARDIS, well the same TARDIS, different voyages in the time stream collided, and wurp, there ya go, end of the universe...butterfingers."

'Frak' always sounded a little silly in Battlestar Gallactica to me.

I like Father Teds -"FEK!!!" Much more impact.

Remember in Miami Vice when they started using 'Freakin'? Was so weird - having all these hard nut Miami drug barons running around shouting:
"It's the Freakin Vice! Run!"

ZOID

Actually, i just use the precise expletives that these 'replace'. I mean what's the point in using 'frack' when everybody knows what you're really saying?

Social taboos over the placement of vowels and consonants is ... stooopid.

...Still when Gaeta remarked to Starbuck on the past week's ep that he supposed "...a mercy frack is out of the question", it almost made the word poignant enough to describe the emotions he was feeling.

So, i'll go with 'frack'.

Respectfully,

zoid

P.S.
Or was it, "pity frack"? i can't recall precisely.

AISLING

I used both fairly often until the kiddies picked it up. And while the first use produced gales of laughter, the hubby and I realized we needed to adjust a few things. Wouldn't do to have them dropping that in the middle of the family dinner with the 'rents.

So, when the kids are up, it is craptastic and sugar-plum-fairy-dust (don't ask). And other creative word mix ups. Sucktacular and such.

When the kids are in bed, all the fun words can come out of the closet and play!

For what it's worth Scifi authors have been making up swear words since at least as early as the forties. There is a character in the first Foundation book that keeps screaming, "Galaxy" whenever you or I might say "Gorramnit", "Frak", "Frell", or "Smeg."
