Is it my imagination or is the number for the Enterprise in the first video NCC1701A?

BLUEMOONSTUFF

I saw a girl takin' her shirt off. WHOOT! The only problem was that she wasn't green and we all know Kirk only "dated" those weird alien gals that had tentecales or some odd shade of green.

I love Star Trek and this one looks pretty good. A turn form the old school but you need to lock in a new audience. It looks like fun!

I just think it is odd they would nuber the ship as NCC1701A from the get go.

I'm not sure wasn't the first Enterprise with no A. Next models start with letters.

Yes the original enterprise was NCC1701 and it became NCC1701A after Kirk destroyed the original Enterprise in "The Search for Spock."

The only ship number I saw was 1504. Or maybe it was 0504. I couldn't tell for sure even after the player stopped responding to my repeated pause rewind play pause requests. Edit: 0504 on a ship that is decidedly not the Enterprise.

I looked at the clip several times and now I see it is the USS Kelva. Sorry for seeing things wrongly and reporting it.

That's cool. They didn't provide the clearest picture and your assumption was a reasonable one. It did kinda look like **01A on first viewing.

Rallem, putting out disinformation is exactly what a Romulan agent would do.

And pulling this reverse-psychology trick is exactly what a Romulan agent would do. :)

Went to see it yesterday and had a great time. Actually if you liked the BDM, and who doesn't here, you'll like ST.

Without giving too much away, many similarities in filming and storytelling style. My guess is that Abrams was paying homage to Serenity. That's a good thing since Joss stepped to the forefront with his unique take on how explosions and such were handled on screen.

I have one small quibble though. In my mind it felt as though he used the "flare" shots a bit too much - like throughout the film. Am I being too picky, I could never tell? But it was funny, action-packed without compromising the character development. There was even a scene in which I expected Jayne to pop up and say "Hey, a tussle"

What may have been ahead of it's time in 2005 (Joss' film style) has found it's way back to the big screen - which bodes well for us because it validates what we already know - Joss is a genius.
The success of ST will, hopefully, pave the way for Serenity 2 BDM what with JJ's shout out to Joss and Serenity. Seriously, I was smiling pretty much throughout the first half of the movie (when you see it you'll know why).

Thanks, JJ for the nod and a wink.

You see Universal, you were right to take a chance on Joss. Now, about that Serenity 2 script..................
