Hey FLT & Kel,

I had a pretty good weekend, Friday night the Boosh were awesome and then not much else to report as mostly was sleeping.

Looking forward to a decent night's sleep tonight as no longer on call so can use ear plugs and first night of football although it is raining.

I think the Ravens are making a run to the Superbowl, that d of theirs is nasty and suddenly the Bengals record is thrown into relief as the AFC Championship game is between two teams from their division. I predict an AFC champion in the superbowl, probably over the Eagles. There you go, I said it!

*buys everyone a drink and heads off to talk to mortgage broker*

wish me luck, gonna see if we can afford to move this summer.

I'm formulating the PS3 switch (40 gig to 80 gig), the purchase of a dishwasher, and the parts I need for a P90 mil-sim Ion conversion. I have most of the parts and the conversion with the parts is 200 bucks less than buying one outright.

Check it out here:

http://www.scenariodreams.com/productpages/p90.htm

Kind of a cool setup. Yeah, just what I need. Another marker.

Trade ya... my day has been annoying, but not boring so far... I got to watch a teacher try and review for the science final while someone drove a forklift in and out of his classroom ( he's got temp walls set up in an unused auto shop where they store stuff..) Apparently this happens a lot..

You could just get a pro 360, considering FFXII is going multiplatform...you won't be able to play FF Versus XII though...that's still a PS3 exclusive.

Not sure that I need as much memory as you're slingin' there Navy. Dang, what do you do with all that space?

NVG, you can never have enough memory, on my PS3 I've got loads of crap, my whole music collection, the contents of a friends iPod also, I ripped Cowboy Bebop and put that on there too, I've got Red Vs Blue, couple of movies, a whole bunch of photos... just stuff. The playstation hooks up to my tv and speakers easier than a PC would, so I use it for most of my media. Went on a bit too much there... But I heart my PS3, could talk about it all day, so shiny.

and tis ok HK, no need to defend the dews, I remembered I might want some ninja training... so best not to upset the master.

Yeah, I'd read about that MsA.

I'm...not too fond of that idea myself. I like to play games that give me a bit of a challenge, and if you add in the ability to skip over all the difficult parts...well where's the fun in that? You might as well just watch a movie.

oh and about that thing you posted about video games it already exists in a game called Alone in the dark Inferno for the PS3, I have yet to use the feature but i know it does mean I believe you can play the game backwards.

However if you skip parts of the game you miss parts of the story and don't get all the trophy points or achievement points.

Just trying to make more none gamers like games, hell give me the old days of streets of rage and Mario kart when we just played games all day.

Oh and if you're wondering am a friend of freelance

I have to agree with what's been said about that article you posted MSA, it's not such a great idea in my eyes.

If you're making games, and there are parts that people dont want to play through, then I think there's a problem with the way you're making the game. Creating a tool to play parts of it for you isn't fixing anything. I think a good game should be able to be played start to finish without someone getting too frustrated with it. You could have a range of difficulty levels, or different factors within the game that alter to suit different skill levels, but if I pay for a game, I want to be able to play all of it, not have the computer do it for me.

It's like special ed for gamers...and not in a good way. It's the worst aspect of special ed. The idea that doing it for someoen "helps" them... helps them what, develop their inability to be able to complete a task??

Okay, everyone who enjoyed the Myst series of games raise your hand.

(hand up)

Hey, I was very excited when I figured out that you could pick up on cues by listening to things and clicking on EVERYTHING.

I'm also easily amused. Take knitting for example. One string, two sticks, hours of entertainment. And cussing.

Made it through the second day of three this week, and I only got out fifteen minutes late because there were two other nurses who stayed until about 7:30 to help me.

Yay teamwork. Not everything got done, mind...

I'm drinking a kir right now. Is luvverly.
(White wine, chardonnay in this case, with a splash of creme de cassis. They separate out and look all pretty!)

I'll move on to a vat sized mango daquiri after this....

Looking verdant and insane, there!

I've made a pot of tea, and I'm snugged in on the couch with popcorn watching the BDS start to finish.

It takes my mind off the outside temperature, or more specifically lack thereof. We got up to 9 degrees F, showing the forecasters a full three degrees higher of what fer. Mind you that's not taking the windchill into account. Hrmph.

I think that's something like -13 centigrade for those who are unfamiliar with the above scale.

It's cold. I'm pouring another cuppa and returning to a happy place.

Oh my word today was a long day at work.

How are you all?

In no particular order, loved the first Myst game that I played on the old man's original iMac.

I mean to re-learn how to knit as I want to make myself a Jayne hat and then possibly jumpers, but need to teach myself and right now patterns make no sense, my other half's sister works on a knitting magazine so I don't really have an excuse.

Impressed by the PS3 stats but can't afford, or an xbox so Wii will have to do.

Just discovered that I'd underestimated my jogging routes and so just come back from my first run of the new year (know it's late but weights killed me last week and before that I was away) and after my warm up lap I ran under 7 min miles for 1.8 which I'm very happy with.

Off to play lego star wars now
