See I love the ability to watch shows when I want, the auto record so I don't miss shows, skipping commercials....

FLT: Myst and Riven, and I think one other.. the name escapes me.. are games which when they came out had the most awesomest graphics ever. They might seem a bit dated now several years after release what with Pixar and all spoiling people..

Puzzles. With a storyline. Much coolness. No shooting per se.

My fingers are cold. I'm going to wait to see when the thermostat timer switches to occupied mode. It's been at 62 all day. I'd have bumped it up to 70ish but we just got the first real power bill of the winter and it was not pretty. I'm just glad we heat with a boiler powered by natural gas and not oil anymore or electric baseboard... that would be painful.

More tea! I'm up through Our Mrs. Reynolds and I've got at least two more hours before the menfolk return!

I seek the muse, and yet she hides.

PS For the terminally bored: You may be amused, you may be annoyed. It could provide a moment's diversion figuring out which way it swings on your personal Fun-O-Meter.

Those I have knowingly met are a fun bunch. The website pulled me in for over an hour. There's clicky things.

Rosie... well if the muse strikes you into explaining how Jayne's father left the family and why Jayne's supporting mom and brother...

Or maybe Inara's wardrobe..

I'm kinda shocked by some of these temps, I though 28 degrees F (-2 C) was cold, well it is, I came up from doing weights in my garage with feet like blocks of ice that day.

Anyway got to get on, but thought I'd say howdy.

You know what... I don't know why we bother having a manager. I really don't.

As of 12/17 I was in the red for vacation time but didn't know it. Then I took two weeks off that I'd had scheduled for quite some time. Now *this* paycheck I'm almost a week short on hours worked. M*F* unbelievable that nobody pointed out that I couldn't take time I didn't have.
Not that it wasn't worth the time off unpaid, emotionally and psychologically speaking, but damn.. if you don't know you're going to come up financially short it really comes as a shock.

I burned through my vacation time from August to December so I wouldn't lose it because I'd been advised that only one week rolls over.
Payroll (who helped write the employee handbook) told me today that a full 160 hours rolls over, a whole year's 4 weeks of vacation can roll over into the next year. (They also said a few other choice words about things I had been told which were not true.)
If I'd freaking knew THAT it wouldn't have become a problem because I wouldn't have taken the damned time off in the first place!

From now on I resolve that I will not trust my manager to be competent in any way, shape, or form, and will keep careful track and record of all time taken and hours worked. This will add a good bit of irritation to my life on a regular basis, but will hopefully prevent further large and unpleasant surprises.

Why do I keep trusting people and presuming that they know what they're doing?
Mgr say: "I wish she'd send up a flag when this happens before she puts it through."
Pyrl say: "I send her a report showing all this regularly. I don't know why this keeps happening."
Mgr say: "I don't keep track of that stuff. I only keep track of floating holidays so you guys don't lose them. I keep telling you all to look at your paystubs."
..meanwhile paystub is usually still reflecting time which has not been either accrued or about to be used..

So if we're supposed to be keeping track of absolutely everything other than our two floating holidays what in the sweet belly of Buddha do we need HER for?

Maybe I'll start thinking of her as Bester just to remind myself of this.

(Grabs a bat and heads for the breakables room.)

"Let's go explore new places. I've never been in here before, I think.."
