Latest news is that Megan Fox is the front runner to play Lara Croft. There's a lot going for her right now in her career that might guarantee her the role if she wants it. So far she doesn't and has denied reports of any involvement.

Hey, but you never know, if the price is right and if the right people are involved, she just might reconsider.

The biggest thing going for Fox right now is that she can open a big blockbuster movie, something our Summer hasn't quite done yet.

i like the pic ... summer is my favorite "weapon" as referred in The BDM...still gotta vote for angie... no idea who i would want to do lara croft however summer can do a english accent !!!

Yanno, I hated tomb raider, didn't care for the game, and thought the movie was worse - but if ya stuck Summer in it, I'd go watch it no matter how awful it was, specially if there's a gratuitous shower scene, cause, well, ya gotta have one of those, right ? :wink:

Meh, point taken, i'm more a leg man myself, and Summer dear has some fine legs indeed.

Side note: I dunno how 'into' ballet she is, but one of my horde goes to classes and put it this way - "Hey, kung-fu is easy, ballet is HARD."

Some people just don't have certain characters in them to perform, but you don't know until they do a screen test. Vivien Leigh was not choosen for Scarlet O'hara after several women were tested for the part. Very fortunate for all they did not pick any of the others before she got her chance.

I would not have picked Bill Murray for the lead in "Razors Edge", but he did an excellent performance. One of his finest films except for "Groundhog Day".

...other than that, I suspect there's enough talent in Summer's little finger to run around caves, kick bad guys in the head and shoot the monsters. Unless she's really desperate for the money, perhaps she should wait for something a bit more challenging (I'd say that both River and Cameron were much more challenging than Lara Croft). Of course, the producers could decide to take the high road and decide that there was more to the character of Lara Croft than unfeasibly large boobs - but if they thought that way they wouldn't be dragging out another Tomb Raider (apt name) sequel.

I don't see Summer playing Lara Croft. They'd have to somehow physically enhance her first off. Second, it's a pretty bland role for her to play. There won't be much acting required.

I'd go with megan fox. She's hot and already plays the dumb hot chick role in transformers.

I just don't quite see Summer as Lara Croft. It's certainly not that she doesn't have the ability to act the part. It's more like maybe she could play Laura Crofts younger sister or something.

That being said.. just about making another Tomb Raider movie, I actually think if they do it right.. they could really re-ignite the franchise.

What they need to do is keep it simple stupid. Just get to the roots of a good story and start from there.

Number 1... ditch all the hi-tech gadgets. If you notice, in the last couple of batman movies, batman had gadgets of course.. but they were mostly downplayed. If you notice the last couple of James Bond movies.. the gadgets were almost non-existant. And it made the movies just that much better. Focus on the characters and story and not on special effects and gadgets.

Focus on Laura being more of a female Indiana Jones. If they could just make a good female version of Raiders of the Lost Ark.. they may just strike gold.
