Well, I'm pretty sure the topic's come up before, but it seldom hurts to reassess one's views.

And if by "new", you mean NEW, then WELCOME!

I don't know if I can put it in terms of "favorite", but the couple I find most reassuring is Wash and Zoe. Kaylee and Simon are cute as the dickens, but their timid naivete makes me want to shake them vigorously. As for Mal and Inara...I'll have to get back to you on them...

It was like that when we got here!

Important people don't do field work.

Oh...I beg to differ.

She is the best damn gun made by man, after all.

Kaylee: "What's so damn important about being proper? It don't mean nothing out here in the black."
Simon: "It means more out here. It's all I have..."

Mr & Mrs Reynolds

Hey, it could have worked.

Definitely Mal and Inara.

They epitomize this struggle between men and women in general. Theoretically, they are perfect for each other, complement each other in strength and compensate each other in weakness - but what keeps them apart are millenia-old social conflicts about sexuality, politics and philosophy. The solution will be as simple as it is difficult: unconditional love and acceptance. It's really poetic, I love that. :)

Though may I humbly suggest not using that promo-picture? There's plenty of great stills from the show for this couple, like for the other two!

Why? Come on, she's not that bad! And she's funny! :D

But there is very little chance she and Mal would work. He knows her too well and she's too damaged. I love the idea of them actually becoming quasi-friends, exploring her without focusing on the sex too much. Though, ultimately, I think she was destined to be a tragic figure.

Now, Saffron and Zoe... That I could get behind!

Mal and Inara by a long shot.... they’re ying and yang, star-crossed lovers, soul mates, comic and tragic, double edged swords, male and female, and they are the pairing that has brought a lot of hopeless romantics to the verse.

I think even Joss may ship them:)

For me it's Zoe and Wash.

The dynamic of a Warrior Woman and our least-likely hero Wash is fascinating. What I always get from watching Zoe is that she truly loves her man, especially when he's "flying" the other woman in his life - Serenity. She gets wet when he flies the crew out of danger.

I always picture her falling for Wash during a very hairy escape from baddies trying to blast our heroes. She gets all verklempt and jumps his bones, much to the surprise of the Captain and Jayne, but not Inara or Kaylee. Aside from Book and Inara's story, the one surrounding these two has always intriqued me.

Which is why I love War Stories so much.
