Help NASA to name the next pressurized module of the International Space Station. Serenity is one of the options (and it's currently in the lead).
Voting will be open from February 19th to March 20th, 2009. NASA will announce the winning name in April 2009.

That's gotta be super-popular among the astronauts, they're probably among the people spamming the vote.

They actually have the DVDs up there and watch them. :) Really! One of the astronauts took them up there!

Well, my votes in for Serenity. It's kind of hard to believe that it has 95% of the votes, just because that seems like an overwhelming landside. Oh well, I won't complain.

Well, in addition to all of the browncoats out there, I betcha a lot of people are also voting for "Serenity" because it sounds so nice when you group the name with "Unity" and "Harmony".

From Wikipedia: NASA Browncoat Astronaut Steven Swanson[69] took the Firefly and Serenity DVDs with him on Space Shuttle Atlantis' STS-117 mission, which lifted off on Friday June 8, 2007. The DVDs will permanently reside on the International Space Station as a form of entertainment for the station's crews.

Hmmmm... He'd look pretty gorram good in a browncoat.

It's a shame we're phasing away from space shuttles. How shiny would it be to vote for the next shuttle to be named Serenity?

Good news. Not only can you vote more than once with more than one browser, but with internet explorer specifically, just close your browser and come back on and you can vote again. It doesn't work with firefox though. I voted once with firefox and 20 times with internet explorer in the past couple of minutes. Let's win this! Though in their terms of service they say they may not use the name voted on. And who the hell voted for Vista?

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

Does the suggested name of Vista mean they don't think it will work very well?

I've only voted twice so far, once on Firefox and once on IE. I'll check again later on IE and see if it will let me vote again. However, if they are excluding any duplicate votes on IE aren't we risking a disqualification of Serenity by doing so?

@FreeLancerTex
You can vote more than once if you have more than one browser, and with internet explorer, every time you close the browser when you open it up it lets you vote again. Though some have pointed out that the votes might be discounted if people do that. I disagree. I don't think they are monitoring, it's just a standard poll with no ip address saved or anything. Also, it's really not that important. So either use your two or three browsers to vote two or three times in a day, or add extra votes with the Internet Explorer trick. Either way, keep the votes coming.
