out of that list....has anyone seen The Tick or The Adventures of Brisco County Jr?

The Tick just sounds damn intriguing.

And I really like Bruce Campbell and have always wanted to see more of his TV stuff, but when I could find it on DVD, I sort of forgot about it.

So are either of those shows worth getting?

The Tick has its moments, but it's an acquired taste. I would recommend netflix or finding a few episodes online then if you like it get it. I happen to have acquired the taste, but never laughed out loud.

Also, Bruce Campbell FTW.

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

Ummm....that's Entertainment Weekly, not CNN.

Brisco County had so much potential, and Bruce Campbell was perfect for the part, but the series was very uneven as if they couldn't make up their mind if they wanted to make a straight western, a comedy or a sci-fi spoof. Bruce and Kelly Rutherford were the highlights. I'd say rent it to judge for yourself. I bought it but gave it to my son because I didn't think I'd ever want to re-watch it.

I also bought The Tick, and have re-watched it several times and will return to it again. Patrick Warburton was born to play the Big Blue Bug of Justice. It only had nine episodes, so you'll probably be able to find it real cheap.

As for the others on their list, I have heard very good things about a lot of them but didn't watch some. Of the ones I did watch and would recommend:

Invasion
Aliens in America
Frank's Place
Journeyman
Cupid (I don't expect much from the upcoming remake since it won't have Jeremy Piven and Paula Marshall)
Freaks and Geeks
Wonderfalls

Those last two are the ones I miss the most.

One show that is not on their list but I would dearly love to see again goes all the way back to 1970. It had the misfortune of being scheduled opposite The Mary Tyler Moore Show and only lasted one season. Hardly anyone I mention it to remembers it, fondly or otherwise.

My World, and Welcome To It starred William Windom as John Monroe, a thinly disguised version of writer/cartoonist James Thurber. I was already a Thurber fan before the show, and even more so after.

Forget the live-action version of The Tick.
The only version that did (Mighty Blue) justice to the comics was the animated one...

Remember: The creator of The Tick is Ben Edlund, a producer on Firefly (& Angel), and wrote "Jaynestown" & "Trash".

Oh, and you can find all the episodes of Piven's Cupid here!

Ironically enough, I'm re-watching Brisco County Jr. right now. :) Bruce Campbell is the best. Nathan and Bruce should team up and do a space cowboy spin-off extravaganza.
