Skipping through opening/end credits, I consider that a form of disrespect towards the makers (only with the good stuff, of course); so, yes, I still watch 'em -- especially now that I can hear that golden Firefly tune in DTS Master Audio on the Blu-Ray set.

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

I not only watch them every single time, I also sing along.

Yes, this. Those words are too powerful to skip past, and Sonny Rhodes' rendition is just so moving! I got into a bit of a spat with a relative recently who said the Ballad of Serenity was cheesy...

Meh, I figure....why bother ffwd'ing them?
The song style gives a good feel to the show, and they're short enough that it's not a big deal to sit through 'em.
I got my wife into the show. She aboslutely loves it. But she can't stand the song. So that's another reason to make sure it plays in its entirety every time.
;p

I always let the intro play. And sometimes sing along.

Though, admittedly, there are times when I'm in a time crunch and want to squeeze in one more episode before turning off the TV. In those cases, I'll cruise past the opening song. But I always hate to do it.

I still watch them after after the many, many (too numerous to count) times that I've seen them because I still like them.

How can you sing the theme properly without the music? That's crazy talk.

Watch them every time. To skip them is to cut a tiny piece off of the show.

I do :P Now that you mention it though how come firefly has two opening intro movies? The one where we get the background narration and then the one with Firefly written across it. Is it because Fox showed them out of order or was it meant to be like that?

And a related question, why doesn't the DVD have the opening narration for each episode? ...Or, for any episode? I didn't even know what people were talking about until I lent my only DVD set to a relative and needed to Hulu an episode the other day to reference something. (Short answer: because that's not how Joss envisioned it. But I mean *besides that*!)

I usu watch the first one with opening but FF the others when I watch more than one at a time. Perhpas it's heresy but I never was one for strict protocol.

I skip past almost all credits of TV shows - the main character credits. But not FF. Sometimes I sing along, but most of the time my voices cracks too much to do so. I usually am riveted to the visuals as well.

Ooooh, that's a great idea!

I'm with everybody else: The mere thought of skipping the credits has not even begun to speculate about the possibility of crossing my mind!

I watch them. That's only cause it's inconvenient to skip them. There's no simple "skip the credits but not the show" button. They don't really annoy me but they don't add anything either. I consider them just dead time.

Sometimes I'll hit the mute button, because if the kids hear the Firefly theme they will get out of bed and come into our bedroom.

I still watch them, because it is part of the ritual. The music and especially the images help to usher in an episode. I don't really sing along, though I do find myself whispering along, "since I found Serenity," because I like the way the singer does it. And a black and white image transition b/t Sean and Ron in the background. It looks serene, and "I found serenity..."

It's just cool.

Wow - didn't expect to see this kind of response to the question. Excellent! Seems everybody just gets taken by this show. I guess we just learn to live here...
