*Staggers in and collapses in a dazed heap.*

My GOD! That was a weekend to remember!

And I thought Kelkhil was the cutest bartender! Jonathan Woodward just pickled my alcohol with whiskey. Damn but that man knows how to party!

At the end of the weekend he looked less healthy that when he was in the 'dead guy in a box' scene. But then I personally saw him finish off 3 bottles of whiskey and, to my knowledge, did not stop drinking in order to, you know SLEEP, for the whole 3 days! His liver must look like camoflague!

Hey all,

how we all doing?

Looks like Ems had a good weekend and I look forward to hearing about more shenanigans.

I'm doing my usual headless chicken routine but catching up slowly, even if I am on my own in the office again, just a chance to gently go mad with no one being judgmental

*wanders into the corner and waits for others to arrive*

-- Staggers through the door --

Coffee please...

Another week of unsuccessful job hunting is drawing to a close....

Staring to think that once people see my age on the resume, they throw it in the trash.

42 ain't all that old but they probably figure they can pay some 20 year old less money than a 42 year old will ask for.

After 11 months of unemployment, I've almost talked myself into flipping burgers...

I haven't been called for an interview in months...

God this is depressing...

don't worry Kel, you're still the cutest to me!

sorry to hear that brig, can imagine how tough it can be, take it you've tried all the boring things like sprucing up the resume, checking agencies and the like... they keep saying on the news that now's the time to re-skill if you can afford it/if there's something appropriate for you. Hold on, hopefully something will be right round the corner

Barkeep, get this man a drink!

HUGS Gee

Ok I'm just putting a sign up on our door at home saying house of death... food poisoning is now in it's second day for me and I've yet to manage solid food ( did have some gatorade and broth though)
NV is now sick with some sort of flu. Doctor says Peanut is ok though so one of us is managing...

HUGS Briglad I am so sorry. that must be hugely frustrating. IF you have a college degree you can always go be a special ed teacher. they'll let you teach while you complete certification for special ed ( you are in Utah right??)

Kelkhil you are ADORABLE now settle down

and yes they need to fix the tongue thngy

HUGS Em in absentia

*Snags an oversized mug of the Niska Serenitea and kicks off the workboots by the fireplace.*

I'm doing my usual 'early hours of the morning' wind-down from work. Today it includes listening to an alternate version of the ZIM theme ( http://www.questionsleep.com/mindspill/?p=782) and munching on the last of the ANZAC biccies. If I could be bothered looking at Facebook, I might even be able to find some decent quality pics of me from the wedding.

In other work related notes, the main culprit that's been stealing whilst on the job got caught in the act on Monday, so management were called in for a 6 hour interview with the police (meaning the day manager was there until 5am.... soooooooo not happy the next morning, just another reason I'm glad I don't work day shift). They're also going through the last 6 months's worth of high-res CCTV footage to tabulate exactly what was stolen, and also to see who else might have been involved.

And it looks like there's only going to be one CSTS event in Oz this year, due to, well, who knows what (I choose 'laziness on the part of the Adelaide organiser' for $500, but dunno about the other cities). So if anyone's local event is within 90 days of D*C, I might just be tempted to head on over early enough to attend, provided I think I can afford the food/board for the intervening period.

[/epic (by my standards) ramble]

No degree...

No money and crappy grades to boot, so no college.

That said, the other comment made was retraining.

Still an option. If I can fenangle some grant money somewhere. I finally have my own car again (Don't have to borrow the girlfriends anymore) so that will help a bit with the job searching.

Best bet for someone with my skills, is getting my commercial drivers license and start driving a truck for a living.

About the only vocation that's still hiring around here other than something medical.

Had my own Serenity Valley in that profession after working an ambulance for 12 years.

Not doing it again.

HUGS kind of depends on what the degree's in.. teaching ( especially special ed) engineering, and such like, basically any degree that has a specific job as an outcome is still ok, but anything with broad applications or finance is dead in the water right now

*Yawns*

Just got back from the theater, went to see the last "Death Note" film... even though it had almost nothing to do with Death Note, and completely destroyed the canon. Still, it was enjoyable, and L is awesome.

After the film though... there was a DDR machine and I just couldn't resist... 3 songs + difficult mode = a tired me.
