Okay, so after a few weeks of nagging and general peskiness, I got a colleague of mine to watch Firefly. Now she and her husband are hooked! And they're only part way through Disc One from Netflix!

My tactical approach this time was to send three links to Youtube video clips of the show. "Safe" (Big damn heroes, Sir!), "Ariel" (Make somethin' up. Don't tell 'em what I did.) and "Shindig" (Mercy is the mark of a great man...).

Those were enough to get her to add them to her Netflix cue! Hee hee!

Mal: You think she'll hold together?
Zoë: She's torn up plenty, but she'll fly true.
Mal: Could be bumpy.
Zoë: Always is

If they can't wait, point them to Hulu to see the rest.

I have 2 of my sets loaned out now. One set to my local fuel retailer, he loved them, raced through them, ignored all his normal shows, and said if it was winter (not so busy), he'd wathc them all again. Other set, coworker, said he started watching Pilot Serenity, and couldn't stop watching it. His anklebiters kept bothering him, and this is the first time he really wanted to pay attention to a show so much that the distractions bothered him.
I think they'r both hooked.
Neither can understand why the show isn't still on the air. The coworker's wife is next target.

I got a friend of mine and her son to buy the DVDs just by my raving about it to her when I found out she's a JW fan.....haven't heard back from her yet about if she liked it or not ('if', yeah right) I assume that's because she's watching all the episodes over again and hasn't had time for anything else.
Also, while on Facebook a few days ago I noticed that Buffy and Angel were on another friends list of "5 T.V. shows I've seen every episode of" and told him he should watch FF. He's going to as soon as the play he's in ends.
Have a co-worker I'm going to loan the DVD's to (when I'm done watching again) and a couple others I need to recruit. I like the YouTube clips idea to get people interested! I'll have to do that!

They show Serenity on the cinema screen. Also might have opportunity to buy t-shirts, other goodies. Last year had an intro by Nathan. Proceeds go to Joss' favorite charity, Equality Now. Some also have Dr Horrible's sing Along Blog.
Check Events forums for more threads, links.

Nothing special is required, but think of a theater filled with nothing but Browncoats watching Serenity.
