I think he'd be better as the "Green Hornet", but that "FUTURE BOMB" is already in the works.

That was kind of neat and very well done. He had never come to mind when I thought of Green Lantern until now.

This is really creepy. My kids and I were watchingg Wonder Woman the other day and I started telling my son about Nathan Fillion and how he was the voice of the airforce pilot and how awesome Firefly is and all that, and then I mentioned to him how I just read on the comics2film webpage how Nathan Fillion was spotted visiting the DC offices just last week and how he might be in another animated movie... and then it occured to me how unlikely it is that he'd be in another animated flick, unless it was a Wonder Woman sequel, which is unlikely at this point. THEN it occured to me that DC is working like crazy to cast someone in the Green Lantern, Hal Jordan role. Why not our Captain Tightpants? He's got that same cocky, no-fear attitude as Hal. He's got the hair color right. He's a little older than the "potential green lanterns" that they've mentioned in castings, but the studios have to be aware of the cult-like following the guy has. Come on DC, Nathan Fillion for Green Lantern!

I really don't know anything about the Green Lantern but I saw the trailer and it ROCKED!

And I thought the same thing when I remembered Nathan did visit DC Comics. He also commented on Twitter that all offices, like the DC Comics office, need to have games.

That trailer was cool.

Maybe someone can answer this:

Where did that last clip come from? The part where that other guy talks about Captain Tightpants...

I don't recognize it...

It was from White Noise:the Light. A little horror movie that Nathan did and went straight to DVD. It's pretty good.

I haven't seen it in a while, I must put it in the DVD player today because I'm off work and it's thundering already outside.

Select to view spoiler:

Nathan has a awesome open eyed death scene at the end. I don't know how he did it but it's very convincing.

Ah! Thanks! I don't generally watch horror films. I get too freaked out. I did really like how they used that line, though...

Looks like an exercise in Adobe Aftereffects.

I noticed that line in White Noise 2: The Light, but I couldn't watch the entire movie -- too scary!

Remember what happened to that little Poltergeist girl... FOR REAL.

According the to DC comics website, I don't see any new animaited movies in the works. I am leading toward Nathan Fillion in talks with DC comes on the Green Laten movie. He said in a interview while promoting Castle that he was "looking at some movie projects."

Besides, how old is Robert Downey Jr?

Hmmmmm.......the Captain as Green Lantern. Not a bad idea at all. He would be perfect for the role, but they shouldn't wait too much longer to cast him.

I told my friend about this (I read awhile back a lot of folks totally see Nathan as Hal and should be cast for the movie) and he, a much more knowledgable comic book reader than I, suggested his personality is more of Green Arrow. Now I can totally see Nathan with Ollie's snark, but let's face it, the man looks like Hal, and would own that role like no one else.

I'd love to see Nathan as Hal. Or the lead from my other favorite cancelled scifi show, Ben Browder of Farscape.

Alas, they've made it very clear they are looking for an actor in his mid-to-late 20's (which makes sense for where Hal Jordan should be in life when he becomes GL), so they're both too old.

See, I don't get that. I'm not real knowledgeable on Green Lantern lore, but I thought Hal Jordan was a test pilot. Air Force pilots have a college degree and get their commission through either the Air Force Academy, ROTC, or OCS program. So when they start flight school they are about 22. Then there is flight school, which will take at least a couple of years. Now we're in to our mid-twenties when they go to their first 3 year tour, which is followed usually by a desk job before they return to flying. Also, they only take the best, most experienced pilots to be test pilots, so for Hal to be under 30 just doesn't seem right.

Well, the character was loosly based on Chuck Yeager, the most famous test pilot - especially at the time. Yeager was 24 when he started flying test missions.

Also, the fact is, they want to cast someone who will still be young-looking for seques. By the third movie (in theory), you'd be looking 9 years or so down the road. That'd put guys like Nathan pushin 50.

They've been screen testing guys in their late 20's/early 30's like Ryan Gosling, Bradley Cooper and Brian Austin Greene.

It may be a mute point anyway. If Nathan has to be in LA to work on Castle, and production for GL is suppose to start in September in Oz......I don't see how it can be possible. And doesn't he need time to get all fit & muscular like many of leads who are sign on to play the big hero types in these big action flicks?

Too bad because I would rather see Nathan as Hal Jordon then Rick Castle. Nathan plays the action hero well.

Sounds like the studio is serioulsy considering Cooper anyway.

Well, yeah, it's a moot point, because he wasn't ever really considered. It's all just wishful thinking from fans. They've been looking at younger guys from the start.

If not Hal Jordan himself, I'm wondering if they are looking at him for another role?

My daughter keeps saying that Nathan would make a great Captain America (or North America, considering that he's Canadian).

Wrong company. Capt. America is Marvel, not DC.

And he's too old for that role, too.
